Im sure it is very easy to, it any given time, to argue that it is the wrong time to cut off israel. Im sure you can keep making that argument week after week, month after month, but then you rub your eyes and its been three years and gaza and southern Lebanon look like this. Was it the lesser evil?

It's hard for me to say if I had some existing inclination towards a brisk 3/4 setting before I was 16, but even if I did, 1960-64 John Coltrane (and co) certainly cemented that in my aesthetics as home. Happy 100 to the best guy. Listening to this centennial on WKCR connects me back to being 16...

Aaaaaaanyway this whole thing is a perfect example of how disabled and chronically ill and marginalized people are forced out of society and then if they make a tiny enclave together where they try and make space for each other the society that forced them out tells them they can’t have that either.

In honor of Lorem's 30th birthday, and with the blessing of his loved ones, I'm sharing this piece that I wrote, somewhat by accident. It's about Lorem, but also about turning disabled grief into action. Please take the trigger warnings (at the top) seriously, but I hope you will read if you can.

Asked in a Bills women’s group for advice on the most Covid-safe area of a football stadium (least crowded, most ventilation) and I was told “Please stay home if you have this many concerns.” This is how ableds view the disabled: You don’t deserve to leave the house. Don’t make us perceive you.

Every time a right winger points and laughs at a socialist who was born rich, it should be understood as a desperate attempt to justify their own moral failure to themselves. If you grew up rich and are now a leftist and someone points that out, the proper response is: “Yes I am. Why aren’t you?”

Amidst union negotiations in Hampden, MOMs has banned its workers from wearing respiratory safety masks unless they get a doctor's note. Masking makes EVERYONE safer and should not be impeded. Mom's Organic Market has banned employees from wearing masks at ALL locations.
If an employee wants to wear a mask at work, they have to submit a doctor's note for company approval.
If an employee isn't masking for themself, but for someone in their household, they are still banned from masking.
