For people thinking, what's the big deal about the 4% cut in global oil production coming next week, that's the scale of the 1973 OPEC crisis and 1979 Iran war oil crisis. Each followed by a major recession. Prices and supply are global. And global oil stocks are already gone. It's a calamity. 1/

For too long, Canadians and Europeans been naive & complacent to entrust our democratic spaces to social networks controlled by American CEOs & Chinese corporations that have little stake in protecting democry. So glad to finally see a Canadian leader adressing #digitalimperialism.

Canada's Conservative movement has spent the last decade deliberately making its followers more angry, more conspiratorial, and way, way more online. The cost of that strategy could be higher than they ever imagined. #cdnpoli www.nationalobserver.com/2026/09/09/o...

The Conservative civil war has only just begun
Pierre Poilievre practises a form of digital-first, anger-driven politics that nearly took him to the pinnacle of Canadian politics. Now it might be about to drag his entire political movement down.

Many will see Google's decision to map "Lake America" in the US as taking the US side in the Canada-US Trade War. The problem with that logic is: since Exec Orders have no legal force outside the US Executive Branch, Google is actually taking **the President's** side. It's a highly partisan act.
