All this talk about Man City and I'm just over here waiting to find out what's going to happen to Southampton's manager after they handed out judgments on the team six freaking months ago

I was hoping for a little catharsis but probably just ended up with more sports-induced depression.

Even in his prime, Kane never seemed to be the guy who was able to get everyone else on the team going ... he was more of the "fuck it, I'll just do it myself" type of guy. That worked in the 2010s. Much less so now.

The Hawks have rendered me speechless.

Did they empty the bench for this?! That rules.

Haven't seen the clip of the Jack Hughes interview pop up on the timeline but that's gotta be one of the most awkward in-game interview moments of all-time.

While putting this together I took a quick look at Nick Schmaltz's career numbers and became retroactively upset about the Dylan Strome trade because they never seemed to figure out how to get the best production out of him and then let him walk away for nothing.

Slipknot headlining at Soldier Field is a thing you would not have been able to convince me would happen at any point in my life, and I'm still not sure I believe it now.

He’s right of course. Player pay and coaching pay ARE totally different markets. That’s why in every pro sports league on earth, the best players are paid significantly more than the best coaches. They’re way more valuable. College sports is unique in flipping that

Unsure how many games it'll take to send me back to the full-on pessimism with this team thatI was feeling last March/April but I'd prefer not to find out!

Forgot about the part of hockey where live social media updates are about a full minute ahead of the TV broadcast.

Tried talking to myself into a young, speedy Hawks team catching a more veteran-laden VGK lineup napping due to its much shorer offseason. Almost worked!

I feel like the primary reason for most of my followers here are because I was added to a few of those starter packs for White Sox fans. Those are cool, but I also wanted to share this other little thing I do, because this place's continued existence brings me immense joy.

Hockey's back! So is this (/fingers crossed) weekly series where I'll take whatever strange Blackhawks thoughts are swimming in my head and dump them out onto a screen for you to read. What a time to be alive.
