Being GenX/Millennial is such a trip. In our lifetimes, we saw people our age getting wild criminal penalties for pirating music and now have to sit and watch as companies gobble up our work with impunity.

A not anatomically correct zubat, in that I coloured it a bit wrong, coloured on dried hot glue with posca pens in the shot at the top

It's Tuesday, so that means it's only a few more days until I meet @davelikesska.bsky.social and @suzyska.bsky.social, and I suppose I can hang out with @commonsensekid.co.uk, too 🙄

I'm going to meet friends from the internet far away from home at the weekend, just like you get told you shouldn't 20 years ago. I know @suzyska.bsky.social is real but I'm not convinced about @commonsensekid.co.uk and @kylebutoverhere.bsky.social 🤔

Thanks so much @omnigone.band 🥰 (for anyone who doesn’t realise - my pics are on the back of the sleeve and also on the inlay and it’s so cool!)
Omnigone super cool green and purple vinyl record, with inlay featuring a live photo of the band taken by Suzy

I miss you Dad. You'd have thought I was a silly bugger countless times over the last two years if you were able, but I still miss you.

*not* been good at reading - or writing apparently.

Some may say I already tried but there were no seeds and it was already way too late for me try and find it another way. And the Libby app looks really convenient to listen to in the car, I nearly didn't even think of it though because (our) Libby sucks normally. Libraries are generally good though!

Autumn by Ali Smith - my wife was sending me quotes from it a while back when she read the series so I started it on holiday last month but I've been good at reading recently because life is hard

My god there's an audiobook available in Libby from my library for a change, rather than it either simply not being available or being loaned out as 1/1 copies because enforced digital scarcity is a thing

Doing some silly all day training thing tomorrow that I thought was half day but people don't know how to make invites, and I'm taking a leftover Greggs chicken bake and sausage roll for lunch. The show off knobheads there who'll spend loads on show off non-beige lunches can get in the bin

For some it’s a lifeline. For others (like me), it’s guidance. For others, it’s the availability of options. Refusing a diagnosis is a violation of the right to health - ADHD remains a disability, with all the personal and societal consequences it holds. This is not just appalling - it’s dangerous

Depends on the DM, but it's really easy to spend ages sidequesting/exploring because it's all new, when you might realise that the answer is just to crack on and get things done without overcomplicating things. There's a metaphor there somewhere 🤔

This endless train of puff pieces about charming neo-Nazis inevitably leads to Nazi ideologies being mainstreamed. Once you shift from "we should kick Nazi's teeth down their throats" to "What if the Nazi is wearing a buttondown shirt?" it's very hard to come back from that. And the Nazis know it.

From the same piece, written a week ago:
- When climate activists block a highway or throw something at a painting in the UK, the country is treated to 500 articles about whether this particular type of protest is the most operationally, tactically, and strategically optimal method of securing long-term policy change on environmental issues.

- When Bazza and the Restraining Order Lads attempt to burn asylum seekers and immigrants alive inside their accommodation, every article spends throat clearing paragraphs noting that of course they’re driven by serious and valid concerns about immigration (and not as basic observation would suggest, serious and valid amounts of cocaine). The difference is that it feels like the right is expected to act as an avatar for the primal wrath of their base, whereas the left is supposed to act as a check on theirs, policing not only the extent to which that base shapes policy but also how it speaks and presents itself.

- Right wing rage is treated as an elemental, reactive force that you get points for performatively appeasing - even if the method of that appeasement sows the seeds for greater anger in the future.

- Left wing rage is treated as a dangerous, destructive force that must be blunted at every opportunity lest the ideas it pushes somehow make the leap from random Twitch streamer to legislation - despite the chasm between those two being a million miles wide.

I foolishly put "early night" on our pre holiday to do list for yesterday, and eventually got to sleep about 4.5 hours ago before having to get up. How foolish, but who cares because right now I got that holiday adrenaline babyyyyy! 🛫🇮🇹

Managed to get a last min ticket for NUFC tonight for the once in a blue moon I'm able to get to a match, and thought I'd get a train which is unfortunately mega delayed. On my way now though and might get there in time!

I played Dog Man: Mission Impawsible this morning to get my son past a difficult bit, and I think I'd get quite bored quite quickly of the 50 levels he just finished in two days. I'd make it work for however many zeroes that is though.

The technologies needed to address climate change are already known, decades into their development, and getting cheaper every day. If you ask an LLM what to do about climate, they've already harvested the answer from millions of sources that already described it. Meanwhile it's all powered by gas.

I'm not sure why I'm super prone to eyelashes in my eyes, it happens multiple times a day and bothers me so much that I have to get them out straight away or I'll all but die. Or do people just walk around with shit in their eyes and just deal with it?
