I've been grinding the in-game tutorials so I think I am getting an impression of the current game. I have heard it's basically a "you have to play the meta or you lose" but thats a lot of card games.

it is also funny to see the old cards which are all like, killer clowns and dolls and evil magic lamps and everything is covered in knives and the vibe of the current game is like every card is GaoGaiGar.

the only experience I have playing is the ps1 game that was made before they made it an actual card game, so the rules are a little different in spots.

Revisited Tezuka's Metropolis manga for a discussion of the 2001 film, and I do miss some of the idiosyncratic play with gender he does with Michi. Most amusingly, there is a button in the back of Michi's throat that switches their gender presentation and the visual of hitting it is quite good.

i think thats fair, i only ever see people talk about them in an abstract "bad thoughts" sense online, which maybe paints a different picture. i have disturbing flashbacks/future worries but have never thought of them as intrusive thoughts. Maybe i should.
