As a kid, I gamed on the 2600, but those were just having fun. I switched to the C64 and kept with the same type of arcade-y games. Then I found Bard's Tale. That was it. What followed was Ultima IV and Zork... the adventure RPG hooked me. On the school PDP-11, Moria put the nail in my coffin.

I rage-quit-deleted the thesis I needed for my teacher registration 3 days before it was due. No backup. In a feat I could never repeat, I wrote 66,000 words, incl. annotated charts, figures and statistical analysis, in a 52-hr sleep-deprived marathon to meet the deadline. 5 pg essay? Piss easy.
