There are no yummy bugs on the power pole but he keeps trying.

Pretty massive red headed woodpecker on our power pole. Cedar trees in the background. We have a couple pairs of woodpeckers every year but usually they are smart enough to go for our dead tree. My parents used to have one that pecked at their metal chimney so I guess a telephone pole is better than that.

Six rugged miles yesterday so I’m trying to work up to ten minute yoga today. My body is sore, my mind is stellar.

A high point looking out over a lake with some shrubs and a birch tree in the foreground. It’s a national forest lake so all natural, no cabins. The breeze was awesome because I was sweating profusely.

A very sketchy bench and a sign for a national forest dispersed campsite. (The last instruction is to have fun!) When you play in the forest you find the prettiest places to spend time. We had a backpack picnic at this one.

If you can't plant a tree, plant a lavender plant. They thrive in pots or in the ground, are drought tolerant, the polinators love them and you can make tea out of them.
