I’d be rooting for Shaun Evans. (While preparing myself to settle for Luke Evans.) Eve Myles clearly a shoo-in for the surprise “end of S1” regen.

And fwiw, I went in having already learned the gist of the story’s central “rug pull”. Prior to that, I’d pretty much written off bothering to see it at all. Very glad I went. Reckon it’ll stay with me a long while.

JW “Digger”. Look past the superficial echoes of Kubrick - of which there are *many* - and it hangs together far better than I’d expected. Flawed certainly, but an extraordinary production all the same. Pics reflect just a few of the other remarkable works it brought to mind along the way…

I can see that. And somewhere, out there in the multiverse, a *very* different version of “Day of the Doctor”…

Several weeks ago, Phil Tippett's legendary animation studio in Berkeley, CA closed. An anonymous hero noticed a folder of CDs. This turned out to be hundreds of unseen hi-res images and videos from Star Wars, Robocop, Jurassic Park, etc. ~90 isos for you to browse: archive.org/details/tipp...
A casual Star Wars alien fella at the cantina, in a sun faded, reddish photo. Someone will be mad at me for not knowing who this is. Feels to me like the setup for a rather delicious two-hander play. Both men, nearing the end of their lives, holed up in a slightly scuzzy Blackpool hotel. Each with a distinct take on what their dear old show should be, and a stack of variable quality fan fiction to review by the end of the week. 🤔

Henceforth, my headcanon is that S18 of #DoctorWho was massively retro-inspired (probably via tachyons) by the films of Christopher Nolan.

I'm going to tell you a story and then, at the end, I'm going to ask you if anyone happens to have the niche knowledge I need to help... The story begins, as so many of my stories do, in an ancient church in the middle of a city. But it's not now. And it's not hundreds of years ago. It's the 1960's

I’m not familiar with Ryle, but can see how the distinction is useful. Curious though - how does this accommodate knowledge-that which articulates practical methods, habits, even heuristics that lead towards knowledge-how. Tutorials, recipes, how-tos : where do they fit in?

Politics with a small ‘p’ : saying “bollocks” without actually saying “bollocks”.
Laura Kuenssberg: [If business isn’t making more cash, then the] economy will be in a worse position.

Absolutely fascinating to see Laura Kuenssberg interviewing Burnham, flailing to adjust her stance to a politician with a moral argument and a positive message, who stands up for his policies and answers her questions clearly. She is getting so agitated at him not playing the game by the 'rules'.
