Sleep and play are also super important, but I think it's really easy to let creative efforts slide when you're feeling exhausted. One thing that helped me was regular figure drawing workshops. It kept me accountable as a regularly scheduled event; like an exercise class but for your mind.

Kieran Foster, who I shared a little code for DAW plug-ins with over the years has died aged 47. I last spoke to him a few weeks before he passed. I had no idea he was sick. His sister has arranged to have his Glitch2 plug-in become freeware. This plug-in is the stuff of legend. illformed.com

I think it's okay to ask yourself if this is still what you want. The industry has changed and to me, as an outsider, it feels like board artists these days get dumped on--the scope of work has grown incredibly. Also I think what you want to create between gigs says a lot about what you want to do.

With all that said, once I had it looking right on my Windows machine, I brought it over to my Mac machine and rebuilding the Mac plugin "just worked." There are a bunch of widgets that would be nice to haves from the standard WWISE libs that aren't available publicly (like the meters).

I'm guessing it's more a result of documentation getting added in pieces over time. Docs are always the toughest thing for a moving target like game dev tech. I imagine it's more a consolidation thing at this point, depending on the user.
