A paper in Nature Medicine reports insights into how the human brain reacts to different types of psychedelic drugs. These psychedelics appear to change how key networks in the brain connect, including those involved in higher-level thinking, sight and movement. go.nature.com/4mhgse6 #medsky 🧪
This is figure 1, which shows the changes in large-scale network functional coupling induced by psychedelic drugs, averaged across 4 drugs and 11 datasets.

How do psychedelics work? AI gives us a glimpse. @danilobzdok.bsky.social and his international team just published the world’s largest study on psychedelics in Nature Medicine, using AI algorithms to analyze 500 brain scans (10 times more than previous efforts).

Trained language model finds repetitive behaviors and special interests are more indicative of an autism diagnosis than a lack of social skills. www.cell.com/cell/fulltext/S0092-86… @mila-quebec.bsky.social @Danilo Bzdo
Clinical assessment is the gold standard for autism diagnosis, and by using amply pre-trained language models paired with a suitable interpretability strategy, thenative analysis of clinical intuition itself is now possible, guided by detailed observational text reports from clinicians. This interpretable language model framework identified repetitive and stereotyped behaviors as being empirically more relevant for autism diagnosis than social signs in the reports, motivating the possible revision of existing diagnostic instruments.
