Today, Florida's minimum wage hits $15––not thanks to politicians, but the determination of Floridians of all political stripes who voted to raise the state minimum wage in 2020. I talked to activists who helped organize on the campaign to make that happen www.orlandoweekly.com/news/florida...

Florida’s minimum wage is about to hit $15 — and that didn’t come by chance, or the political will of politicians, but by the will of Floridians themselves.

This is the immigration version of One day everyone will have been against this. In fact there was a ton of media coverage on this in 2024. The reason why people *knew* even though they claim others *didn't know* is because it was being reported on and talked about incessantly.

On September 30, the minimum wage in Florida officially hits $15-an-hour. Starting next year the minimum wage raises will be tied to inflation. This, because voters overwhelmingly passed a citizen ballot amendment in 2022. Florida will surprise you like that sometimes.

The president sure seems like he knows what's coming www.nytimes.com/2026/09/11/u...
“We’re going to have a good time listening to music,” Mr. Trump said, name-checking Christopher Macchio, an opera singer who closed out the evening. “I’m getting a little bit tired of politics now.”

Before taking the stage for the second night in Dallas, Mr. Trump was asked by Laura Ingraham of Fox News whether he intended to campaign harder than he ever had before.

“No,” he replied bluntly. Asked by Ms. Ingraham whether or not he thought his legacy was on the line ahead of the midterm elections — “Isn’t this just as important, Mr. President?” — Mr. Trump seemed almost blasé about the possibility of Republicans losing one or both chambers of Congress. “I’ll block all their bad stuff for two years. It won’t be the same, but I’ll be a blocker, what can I tell you?”
