It really gives the game away when the anti trans orgs are calling the election of the neo nazi party in Germany a "glimmer of hope."
A screenshot of an online article headline from "Inspecting Gender" by Genspect. The main heading reads: "Germany: A Glimmer of Hope for Sex Realists?" Below the title, the summary text asks: "Is the victory of the AfD in Germany a dark day for democracy or a glimmer of hope for sex realists? By David Allison." The bottom metadata displays the Genspect logo, "5 hours ago," and a "Listen" audio option button. In the top right corner, there is a teal "Subscribe" button alongside a circular profile avatar.

Here's a map of how iron ore mined in Minnesota moves (the red lines). Note the markers for where steel facilities are located, they're where they are because you have to move the stuff on ships. There are no steel mills in Iowa of any size because you can't get the fucking stuff it's made of there

It's not something I feel like doing myself, but it would be really cool to break down total water rights in California by partisanship of the owners. It might really shift perspectives to learn that we're turning our state into a desert when 70% of acre-feet are owned by Republicans.

A remarkable Mexica gold serpent labret (lip jewelry), cast by the lost-wax method and fitted with a movable, bifurcated tongue. From Central Mexico, though its exact state of origin is unknown, 1325–1521 CE, it likely marked elite status and powerful speech.

In the first half of 2026, 8 people died by gun homicide in PDX. In the first half of 2026, 17 people died as a result of transportation crashes on PDX streets. May they rest in peace. Traffic violence is real. Safety should always be prioritized over car speed (and more car lanes and car parking).

For some context, this kind of local police to ICE pipeline has been a dream for decades. “Secure Communities” under Bush/Obama was an early iteration, but never got anywhere near the funding ICE has now. It generated enough backlash against Obama that ICE was reined in. Very different times now.

Relatedly, what's bad about much AI content (in work environments) is the inclusion of text & visual elements that don't *matter*. At best it's repetitive or filler, at worst it distracts or confuses. It's work to edit AI content so the elements build up coherence and not merely spew information.
