Wild vs Chicago pre-season, The Bad: Daemon Hunt had a rough night. Lost a puck battle that led to a breakaway goal for Lardis and seemed to be mistake prone this evening. Too many soft plays on the puck. Yurov also seemed to get the worse of it physically tonight. #mnwild

Claude Giroux (who did NOT leave Ottawa but instead signed a 1x2m deal with a welt of bonuses) is still an extremely strong hockey player at age 38, especially defensively at 5v5 and at converting chances into goals.

One effect that the actual NHL parity has is that it's virtually impossible to win a Stanley cup without at least one comfortably-above-true-talent play from at least one depth guy and I kinda love that. Those guys getting to be The Guy for a little bit has gotta feel incredible.

I've basically come to terms with the fact that there's no way around this. If you do understand climate change and really want to solve it, you need to figure out a way to work with people's proxies, their partial understandings. You need to find oblique ways of coming at it.
