Hard to succinctly sum up the Brady Tkachuk acquisition in a few words. They get a great player in his prime and slow the trickle in their pipeline to a drip to do so. Was last season an aberration? They had better hope so. When this thing crashes, it's shaping up to be spectacular.

Nic Deslauriers signed a 2 year extension with the Hurricanes yesterday. Seems like a small misstep by the Canes. They get one step closer to keeping the Cup winning group together for next season though and, given the league min value, it's easy to deal with if it doesn't work out.
