Just a friendly reminder, this whole "I use AI to open source X software" is going to be a HOT BED for malware. Please just be careful :)

I started out pretty AI neutral, aside from the environmental concerns, but I'm, being pushed into hating it more and more because it keeps making things I care about actively worse, and the results keep speaking for themselves in a really bad shitty way.

Yeah, it'd be the first pauper legal planeswalker. not seen a lot of the commons yet, but hoping there's one that can fit into poison storm, letting you get a little bit extra value from all the proliferation the deck does.

I'm so fuckin tired of the "agi" shit. these models are so far away from that that it's insane that it's even muttered in the same breath. Anyone speaking about it months ago should have been deemed delusional, even more so now.

011

Izzy @daito.blog · 05/09/2026

I do see that they have said the pfp is going to get access to see the cards beforehand next time, whenever that is. But the issue here is that there will ne a next time. I much prefer the cadence of pauper to be predictable and stable, and not beholden to the whims of the latest chaos vault drop.

000

Izzy @daito.blog · 05/09/2026

First is the choice to not preemptively ban most, if not all of the new cards. They've basically just handed affinity a loaded gun and told it to go wild for the next month. Then also there's the issue that it's going to set a precident that this can happen again in the future.

Izzy @daito.blog · 05/09/2026

Really not a fan of this change. I understand it on a base level (pauper is everything printed at common, so would not be great if there was now an asterisk on the end to exclude secret lair), but I have 2 main issues with letting this go through as is.

GOOGLE DOCS USES AI THAT TRAINS ON ANYTHING YOU WRITE IN IT, EVEN IF ITS A “PRIVATE” DOCUMENT. It’s now possible for users to get Google Docs’ AI to share information that is otherwise not publicly accessible, if it was written in Google Docs at some point. You CANNOT trust it w/ confidential info

Really feel like my article pages are in need of a revamp, but genuinely have no clue what to put for a lot of the space either side. I don't want to content farm it and put ads on every square inch. Maybe I make my own advert graphic section as a joke?

I've always thought card grading was just a crock of shit. The process of grading is so etherial and depends on the whims of of whoever is grading it, but learning that cards need Re-Grading because old grades are unreliable, proves to me it's a scam. Crack those slabs and play the cards!!

Do want to also give my favourite cinema experience alongside this to not just be negative, which was Hundreds of Beavers, twice.

It's about to be a year since I've graduated, and I've found nothing. Really doesn't help that most jobs I see are from companies that are trying to pivot (unsuccessfully) to it.

Really fucked that I'm likely to get lumped in with these dumbasses for the crime of doing a computer science degree, especially when I have been advocating against this shit since it started taking all the oxygen in the room.

I think given the scale @godotengine.org is now at, this is an incredibly incisive approach to combat generative AI's awful impact on people, code, and communication. Also focusing the ban policy on access & pull requests is a smart way of eliminating huge parts of the problem in a practical way.

The developers describe how their game uses Al Generated
Content like this:
At SEGA Corporation, we utilize generative Al as a support tool for developers, aiming to provide better content to our users and enable developers to focus more on creative tasks.
We have used such generative Al support tools during development of Crazy Taxi: World Tour. No Al was used in reference to the performers in the game.

I joked about this in my new vid but come on lol. The vid that the AI specifically references even proves it wrong, it’s embarrassing It’s not even a hypothetical like ‘can ants live in your cock’ - it’s a cold, hard, unarguable fact with multiple evidence sources. Fuck off lol

Played Destiny since Taken King. Went from solo-play, to connecting me to friends during lockdown and making new ones, to something I’d coop with my wife on the couch. It was ambitious, inventive, and plain fun. Whatever else, tragic to go out like this. All love to the team past and present.

disrupting an industry with new tech used to mean there was some sort of notable improvement being made with the tech in some way but with AI every time it "disrupts" something it just makes it worse and more expensive for no clear benefit
