I LOVE how @propublica.org dealt with official comment here, editorially and stylistically.
The Trump administration says none of this is happening.

"DHS is NOT arresting U.S. citizens by mistake." "There are no 'indiscriminate' stops." Allegations of "racial profiling are disgusting, reckless and categorically FALSE." "The pattern is NOT of law enforcement using force." "ICE does not zip tie or restrain children."

But that is precisely what is happening, and at a far larger scale than previously reported.

Check this post out from @matthewcort.land, there's some options that might help! Good luck ❤️ shouldntneedtobealawyer.com/posts/vaccin...
If your insurance pays for them, that is fantastic. If you are insured, I think all AHIP plans, all of the big commercial insurance plans are continuing to pay for the COVID vaccine. If you are uninsured, it is out of pocket. Goodrx.com has coupons. Costco offers a discount. These vaccines, and importantly, these vaccines are usually available from your local public health department.

If you are uninsured or underinsured, your public health department might have them for free or at very low cost. Public health departments can be a city public health department, it can be a county public health department. It really depends on where you are. So my advice there is to Google where you are and public health department and give them a call and ask what, sort of the vaccination options are.

Something I learned just this week: "only 4% of the world’s women and girls live in the U.S., but the U.S. confines ONE-QUARTER of the world’s incarcerated women and girls." www.prisonpolicy.org/global/women...
a chart from Prison Policy comparing states' incarceration rates of women to the other countries' rates.
it shows about 20 states who incarcerate women at a higher rate than even the most incarceration-friendly countries (el salvador, dem. rep. of congo, thailand). three states - south dakota, montana and idaho - incarcerate women at a higher rate than the country of El Salvador.

When mask bans were first being enacted, disabled people warned they marked a return to Ugly Laws. They were a crucial step towards eliminating us from public life. They were designed to make us hide away, unable to safely exist in public. Disabled people are the canaries in the coal mine.

If you haven't yet gotten involved in your local ICE watch group, the need remains massive. Protecting immigrant communities is a long-term commitment, but as Lex notes, volunteer organizations are stretched really thin. If you're in Massachusetts, and can safely do so, please consider joining LUCE.

The "antisemitism isn't systemic" argument falls apart when you grasp the security costs borne by American Jews in just about every aspect of communal life. Nazis walking into synagogues with AR-15s are animated by the same Great Replacement Theory espoused by our Christian nationalist electeds.

For nearly two months, Palestinians in Gaza City’s Sheikh Radwan neighborhood had access to water at any time — a welcome sense of stability in the depths of a genocidal war. On Aug. 24, that stability was disrupted by an Israeli airstrike that destroyed the newly built water desalination plant.

The poltical pressure to capitulate on PPE is immense: on every individual who wears masks, on every event that requires it, on every social group that maintains it as a norm. The goal is to wipe every trace of what we remind them of from awareness. To mask is a regular practice in resistance.

This is the article to share with all your healthy friends and family to help them understand what’s going on. #LongCovid #ME
To be clear: not every disability or chronic illness is caused by COVID-19. However, the runaway acceleration in the diagnoses of common post-COVID conditions like ME, POTS, and autoimmune diseases is absolutely caused by the ongoing failure to control unmitigated COVID-19. And it's why there's an apparent "trend" in these diagnoses.
