When you’re a kid in 1990, you’ve already clipped the tabs out of your Genesis cart slot, and Sunsoft refuses to play fair by using a standard cart shape, sometimes you take a piece of sandpaper and do the unthinkable just to hear that sweet, sweet BGM.

My original Batman Mega Drive cartridge from 1990, sanded down a bit on its sides to fit inside a standard Genesis cart slot that has already had its plastic tabs removed to play 95% of the Japanese MD library.

I also randomly still have a Phelios cart that’s gutted in the same fashion as that Sonic cart by parties unknown, but replaced it in my stacks with a clean copy long ago.

Lang II lacks these labels and adds to the confusion by giving commanders the ability to lead multiple classes of troops. Killing a commander kills off all their troops as well, robbing you of XP in the process, so it’s kind of important to know who’s leading whom.

Langrisser II question for the veterans out there: Is there any way to tell which enemy troops belong to which commander during a battle? This was easy in Lang I: Commanders were labeled “1st/2nd/etc.”, and their troops were labeled accordingly….

Kind of a mess of a battlefield. Blue guys are commanders, green/masked guys are their troops, but I can’t figure out who everyone’s respective dance partners are.
