Everyone's seen how the most powerful tycoons in Silicon Valley have manipulated politics (and society) to their will. But we're stuck thinking of them as "VCs". They're not. Popular with younger generations to think that anything "old" isn't "good today". Reactor 1 at Nine Mile Point power generating station was built in 1969. The buttons and lights that control it still work. They've never needed a firmware update or software patch. And they're dependable as ever!

This will affect hundreds of thousands of people, lead to more family separations, and ultimately hurt our economy. This is inhumane, illegal, and illogical. It will hurt both immigrants and citizens alike.

A key reason people in China are more receptive to AI than in America is that the courts there have ruled that you can't just lay people off because Claude can now do research and write code. You need a better reason than that. In America, CEOs can't wait to get rid of "low value human capital".

A website that appears as a Windows 95 window. Text in pixelated Times New Roman reads: a website whose domain registration has been ceaselessly auto-renewing since 1998, but whose last FTP upload was in the summer of that year. the website is impaled against the passage of time, bytes streaming from digital stigmata. it is forced to watch in muted terror as its siblings and friends wither and vanish entirely, blinking out of existence one by one as their registrations go inevitably out of date."
