Perhaps I have missed it but I haven't seen anyone noting the link between the Carney government's decision on Billy Bishop airport and calling the Beaches-Woodbine by-election. Staying on the fence or supporting airport expansion would likely have cost the Liberals the seat

That’s a talking point from Conservatives and change-resistant industries that’s increasingly hard to take seriously when you consider the falling costs of EVs, renewables, etc., relative to fossil fuels. And it’s out of sync with what’s happening in the rest of the world.
