Oooooh, totally agree! I'm currently playing through this and it's got buckets and buckets of charm (wrapped in suitably oppressive Gothic horror)

an amazing new project launches today in new zealand: people can report sexual harm, and get matched with others who reported the same person. when you report, you get a lawyer - and lawyer-client privilege. for free. i profile the website, technology, charity, & law firm here: www.webworm.co/tika/

For #WIPwednesday I actually have a WIP on the go! Herald of Decay from Age of Sigmar. Trying something new AGAIN by doing washes between different layers. Certainly not close to being finished, but looking forward to continuing. #hobby #miniatures #minipainting #aos #warhammercommunity

GW Age of Sigmar Herald of Decay miniature for the Nurgle faction. The mini is of a cloaked and armoured figure holding a scythe, mounted on a horse that is sculpted to appear like it is rotting away in places. The horse is standing on a rocky pedestal with plants and a wooden sign around it. The model is in a state of semi-painted. So far the horse has been painted in a greenish grey. Wood and leather have been painted in red. Metal has been painted in green and ochre. The figure's hood is painted in red and with a crenellated yellow pattern around the rim, as has some hanging cloth on the horse's reins. The figure's cloak has been painted in green and teal. The mini is on a wooden surface with a black panel behind it.

Always worries me when I'm the first one to a planned event or such (like today!) Always makes me question whether everyone else cancelled and left me out the loop. Hopefully someone else turns up soon!

Thank you! I love that it's a separate supplied bit of clear plastic - I dipped the bottom of the plastic in some Strong Tone wash before gluing it on (after painting the main lamp) and then a very light drybrush of orange and yellow on it. One of those moments where you try something and it works!

Definitely do! And if you've not seen Rogue Hobbies' video of their paint job, I thoroughly recommend it!

They're so small too, like you could say they're 28mm scale but they're small creatures from that, so they look absolutely adorable and twee in front of my GW minis 😅

Got my larp kit out ready for Saturday, wanted to make sure if there was anything that needed repairs or cleaning then I wouldn't be rushing last minute. Very pleasantly surprised to find past me put it all away dry and clean, so it's all good to go!

Cheers! They are so different to the usual high-detail and gribbly minis I do, but the sculpts are so defined that they have so much character. Really appreciate the work you do!

Right, so, 3 countries can say "might have to call time on the UK lads" and get told to fuck off, but some English village full of racists gets the "we hear you 🙏" statement?

Delivering the result, Susannah Parden, vice chair of the parish council said: "We are Piddington the village that roars."

Following the result, council chair Tim McNally said: "This is an example of democracy in operation.

"We went into this village hall as the underdogs - we had a plucky idea.

"We have given a message to the world."

Responding to the village saying it had "roared", Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy told BBC Breakfast: "I think they have – we have heard it, we are listening.

"I do really understand that when changes are made that affect your community it can be very distressing.

Finished my little cloth minis from @statuesque.bsky.social - these were completely different to the usual minis I paint, as the purposefully low-detail sculpts means I didn't have dry-brushing or washes to hide my mistakes! But really enjoyed this cute lot. #hobby #minipainting #miniatures

I'm a granola addict. But it can't be tropical. My go-to is the one with freeze-dried strawberry pieces in. But I want to move away from it to eggs and fresh fruit to have a healthier start

Yeah, I don't have loads of texture to hide mistakes or easily add shading and highlights! The bright red, yellow, pink, and blue were all Pro Acryl's Rogue Hobbies signature colours, they're super pigmented and thin enough straight from the bottle

Plus the next few months' sessions are designed to be more to help new players get into the game. If you don't have kit loads of people have stuff that can be borrowed!

If anyone in the Northeast England area want to join a really friendly LARP that meets up for a day a month outside Hexham, and has a hilarious Discord group, feel free to hit me up for details on Catreath - a fantasy LARP based on early medieval Britain. Next weekend we're back to playing!

They're painted now, just want to get the bases done before I show them off. They were quite the different experience with so little detail in the sculpts (though that's part of their charm) it was hard in a way!

Despite yesterday's post, I hit the painting station today and got to work on some cloth goblins and cloth adventurers from @statuesque.bsky.social I've had these for ages and it's criminal I've left them for so long! Just waiting for a wash to dry before I get back to them

It's been too many weeks since I last managed to get any painting done on any minis. Even on days where I don't have other jobs or appointments, my health has been making it so I don't feel up for sitting at the painting desk. It's disappointing but I'm trying not to get down about it

Sick, you say? How about my Typhus, chosen of the Plaguefather?

GW miniature of Typhus from the Death Guard faction of Warhammer 40,000. The mini is of an armoured individual holding a scythe in its right hand, a skull in its left, with a swarm of flies behind them. The mini has been given some customisation from the standard version with a different face, this one has sharp teeth, a differing scythe blade, and various skulls, branches, and skeletal parts in the base. The model is painted in a majority of green with bronze metallics. The base is painted bright green and made to look like its illuminating the mini from below.

Astrophotographer Adam (AJ) Smadi caught this image a few hours ago from Washington state. A thin crescent Moon, sunlight illuminating the rugged lunar surface. And 2,400 times farther away—and on the other side of the Sun—mighty Jupiter, and its moons Io (left) and Ganymede (right).

A crescent Moon seen during the day, arcing from upper left to lower right of the frame. At lower centre is the full disk of Jupiter; the small dots to its upper left and lower right and Io and Ganymede, respectively.

Thank you all for the 6k. <3 I thought long and hard about what to do, but I decided to listen to my community and take care of myself, and go back to basics and have fun. Wanna join in on the fun? Read the image for more info. <3 🔄& 💖would be cool. Follows are nice, but not necessary. <3

A short comic strip about Naolin getting to 6k members.

The text says:

You’re all amazing. Thank you for liking my art. I can’t express how grateful I am for having such an amazing community who support me like you do.

I was planning on doing a raffle, but I have too many projects going on atm, and I know the majority of you would want me to take care of myself. That’s why, for this 6k, I just wanna go back to basics and do sketches of things that tickle my artist brain.

HERE’S HOW TO JOIN: JUST POST YOUR REF, SAY IF YOU PREFER SFW OR SPICY, SHARE AND LIKE THE POST! THIS IS NOT A RAFFLE, I JUST PICK A FEW TO SKETCH!
