For #WIPwednesday I actually have a WIP on the go! Herald of Decay from Age of Sigmar. Trying something new AGAIN by doing washes between different layers. Certainly not close to being finished, but looking forward to continuing. #hobby #miniatures #minipainting #aos #warhammercommunity

GW Age of Sigmar Herald of Decay miniature for the Nurgle faction. The mini is of a cloaked and armoured figure holding a scythe, mounted on a horse that is sculpted to appear like it is rotting away in places. The horse is standing on a rocky pedestal with plants and a wooden sign around it. The model is in a state of semi-painted. So far the horse has been painted in a greenish grey. Wood and leather have been painted in red. Metal has been painted in green and ochre. The figure's hood is painted in red and with a crenellated yellow pattern around the rim, as has some hanging cloth on the horse's reins. The figure's cloak has been painted in green and teal. The mini is on a wooden surface with a black panel behind it.

Finished my little cloth minis from @statuesque.bsky.social - these were completely different to the usual minis I paint, as the purposefully low-detail sculpts means I didn't have dry-brushing or washes to hide my mistakes! But really enjoyed this cute lot. #hobby #minipainting #miniatures

Sick, you say? How about my Typhus, chosen of the Plaguefather?

GW miniature of Typhus from the Death Guard faction of Warhammer 40,000. The mini has been given some customisation from the standard version with a different face, this one has sharp teeth, a differing scythe blade, and various skulls, branches, and skeletal parts in the base. Finally calling this Stormcast Eternal model done! Decided to do thinned down metallics on the metal details to make up for my amateur attempt at NMMs. Considering I went in trying to emphasise difference between light and shadow areas, very happy with how this came out! #warhammercommunity #aos

Started yesterday, finished this morning. A paladin type fellow from @weprintminiatures.com along with their judgemental capybara buddy from @badsquiddogames.bsky.social . Brighter tones used with some dry brushing to bring it all together.

Another mini I picked up from @weprintminiatures.com done! A different kind of goblin, this one some sort of gangster. I can't remember which company did the brick wall stuff, I've had it for years. Toadstools from an Oldhammer starter set. Such tiny detail on this lil guy!

Mini I painted couple of days back and is now matt varnished. From @weprintminiatures.com , designed by RNL Estudio, this mimic chest didn't take me long but I enjoyed trying out newly learnt techniques on it. And I think it looks adorable! Flagstone base sculpted with milliput.

Model that I just painted the other day. GW Night Goblin Shaman, I think the stand clip said 93? It was hard to read. Originally went for darker tones but when glazing colours it came out brighter, and I like how it finally came out. Base was moulded green stuff and a lil toadstool I put together.

Hair was slightly thinning or starting to regrow in a patch - either way I didn't like the look so the mohawk is gone and back to an all over shave. Plus it was always a hassle getting someone else to shave the sides to keep the 'hawk

Feel very lucky that we're close enough to the North-east coast that we can get there in about an hour and get to see Grey seals most of the year. Had a lovely time watching them from St Mary's lighthouse.

I emerged from the funk enough to edit some recent(ish) photos. This one is from when we went on a boat to the Farne Islands and I managed to get this beautiful pose snapped of this Grey Seal. This was in April, so not when they're in vast numbers, but they still have a good few there.

Tattoo I got yesterday, a memorial piece for my mother Deanne. On my left hand I've got little gravestones above each knuckle of passed relatives, but I wanted something special for my mum, and also I couldn't do this myself. Really happy with it, and it means a lot to me

I had originally been planning to be far further ahead with this model challenge at this point in the month, possibly even finished. But it has been, not to put a fine point on it, a fucker of a February. But it's built and on a suitable base, just need that to dry. Then the main fun begins

I'm taking part in Travelling Man's Paintbowl challenge over February - given a Bloodbowl model, a basing material, and 4 random paints. The model can be kit-bashed a bit but focus remains on the model, I can use other basing material but I MUST use this one in the final product. 1/

The best gift I received was this blanket my wife crocheted for me. She only started crocheting a couple of months ago and did this in secret. It's so soft and I always want blankets on me when I'm sat or lying down. I love it and I'm so appreciative of it, of her hard work. I love her so much

My progress on my Typhus. Pleased. Yeah, its coming along. Cloud and flies still need doing

Miniature model of Typhus from the Warhammer 40,000 range by Games Workshop. This has been slightly customised. The model is an armoured figure with pipes and horned extrusions. In its left hand it holds a severed head, in its right hand, raised up, a grand scythe. A small demon clings to its right side. A cloud containing demonic flies is coming from behind it. Skulls, rocks, and a withered tree containing part of a skeleton are around the figure, stuck within what seems to be a toxic sludge that has been painted to give the effect that it is radiating a glow up the figure.

It's bloody cold here at our altitude, so I'm going to avoid going outside as much as possible (though might pop outside to puff on my pipe) and cook up a meat chilli and veggie chilli, shave my hair down again, and stay cosy. Have an autumnal stump

Aged tree stump coated in moss and dropped fir needles? Tendrils? Whatever the little bits at the end of a fir tree are, but not spiky, soft. On the right side of the stump is a cluster of fungi attached to its side.

Last night I submitted my choices for our photography club's first round of its season's competition. I've only ever submitted digital rather than prints, I don't have the money to do prints. But I wanted to share one of my submissions: Elevated Fairy House at Northwood

A small wooden hut, perhaps built by one of the Fae people? It has a thatched roof. It is situated on a wooden platform made from branches and twigs, attached to the trunk of a tree, and is within a forest. The colouring has been altered to accentuate greens and pinks.

Today is my wife's birthday and as such we're heading to Whitby. My first time there despite having lived in the Northeast of England for 8 years now and it being one of those places that one would think would be on my radar. Looking forward to a grand day celebrating her *;+_££ birthday!

Been quite a while since I've had time to sit and edit photos, and I've taken a few that I'm happy with in that time. This is a recent one from Derwenthaugh Country Park of the weir there I just called Golden Weir, taken on my CampSnap digital camera with a bit of tweaking after.
