These Tory politicians are plotting to “counter” policies which save lives. Let’s tell the truth: they are in favour of more casualties on our roads. It is unforgivable. I call on all of Oxfordshire’s Tories, and the PPC, to publicly disown this cruelty. Now

📢 Oxford Greenways launch 📢 We launched the Greenways project today! Masterplan of connecting safe cycle routes. It was just great to be standing on a stage with City, County, and Uni ALL behind the project, and Councillors from 3 different parties speaking in support. Also I got a mug! 😍☕ (1/4)
Leaders from City, County & Uni all standing up on the stage supporting Greenways. & me :). The MUG!! I just love it.

I think both this and the other end of the new path may have had their signs installed on wrong poles and pointing wrong directions. In this pic I suspect the dismount sign is for the left pole where the left fork of path is a more pedestrian crossing, and the shared path one goes on the right pole

Do you know if the car club side of this will come alongside the public chargers? I.e some of the charger locations will get an extra club space etc. I dropped a few aspirational car club suggestions in Kennington...

Fair play to Cllr Lugova, she's been busy in the Radley area! Opens up some nice east-west routes. Opera in Sunningwell after a croissant in Kennington. I think Radley Parish Council might need to confirm it at their meeting tonight, so hopefully they are not dissuaded by small mobs from FB.

Mm I thought might be the case. Seems a shame since one of the benefits of mayoralties is they often sit apart from party politics to bring a more regional focus (which I'd imagine would be to their residents benefit).

Traffic would increase by the amount of Radley drivers that go to Oxford Rd/A34 via St Swithuns lane rather than 12 Acre Drive. But that should be small and St Swithuns lane is more appropriate for it than Sugworth. Would be nice to have 1 quiet route to Sunningwell, then look at St Swithuns.

In an era of multiparty politics - first past the post is utterly broken. It is time for Proportional Representation. The climate crisis & our inequality crisis cannot wait for another general election. Failing to fix our democracy immediately will betray future generations.

88% of millionaires are proud to live in the UK and three quarters are willing to pay higher taxes to defend what makes them proud. Why won’t our politicians listen, pick up the pace, and get on with what is welcome, common sense, and necessary? It’s time to tax the super rich.

I get the sentiment - hospital staff do hugely demanding jobs and deserve better conditions - but the answer isn't free parking. "Free" parking has huge societal and environmental costs. [Alt text: Hospital staff should not have to pay hospital parking charges. Share if you agree.]

It may seem like nerdy detail that the increasing weight of cars is worsening potholes, but it matters. The car makers push to sell wider and heavier cars is increasing road maintenance costs and that affects us all. Not to mention worse crash outcomes and less space to pass (wider) parked cars.
