the problem with pursuing a public career after having done potentially catastrophic harm to someone is less in the obfuscation of it all than in your acceptance of the likelihood that the person you harmed may see your face, and hear about you, and see people praise you, again and again and again

if jacob geller's victim has seen any of his videos appear in her youtube algorithm, then geller has already revictimized her an uncountable number of times long before the crime itself became news.

The final thing I'll say about this: I do not think Jacob Geller should have a public platform. Anyone arguing that that means he should be tarred and feathered in the public square is disingenuous. He can live a happy life for all I care. But I don't think he should just... Get his soapbox back.

the only reason the jacob geller rape case is public record is because the school newspaper sued the university for its mishandling of sexual misconduct. that is why the document that did him in is public record. do you people really think the school newspaper wronged the victim?

it’s been so long, he’s such a good guy now, he’s a good progressive. great. like how different is all that from “he’s an important part of the football team” “he’s a leader at the church”

like idk man sure i think personal growth is important and stuff but also you can just be a barista. i think if you had really reckoned with the weight of what you did youd stop yourself before ending up in a position where thousands of sexual assault survivors learn they supported you, a rapist

Not wanting an abuser to be working in a public facing position is not the same as casting them into exile I know it feels that way when you're a fan of their public facing content, but that's kinda why it matters that they shouldn't be in that position It dilutes anything resembling consequence.

I also believe in restorative justice but I don't think that means you get to become a pillar of a community and garner an audience and an income that relies solely on everyone including yourself staying silent about your actions. In the VIDEO GAME SPHERE no less.

very disappointed in the jacob geller situation. it's already fucked up that the victim didn't get any say, but the thing that did him in was a document the U.S. government legally forced the university to release to the public in 2020 - so the expose was inevitable.

“Oh no I might get spoiled” Put the phone down then. More important things happening here than your access to Twitter and TikTok. Certainly not the type of crap I’ve been seeing in response. And to those that ARE seeing it in cinemas; keep the embargo up. Do NOT spoil it. Be a lil decent.

i'm sorry tadc fans but if you can't quit social media for two weeks with two months notice you have a social media addiction and need to check in to the amazing digital rehab. or at least turn on your phone's greyscale mode. the grass outside is a beautiful green

it's really awesome that we're just in a period where art can't take risks at all on any level and that all of it needs to be sanitized to shit to even be allowed to exist in the eyes of paypros and the people in power

it came out too recently for it to happen this year but ego renegade boy would be literally perfect for miku expo or even magical mirai. it has that 2010s vocaloid je ne sais quoi. maybe next year. hopefully. i think that'd be awesome

real talk there's this untranslated tie-in novel (related to a game; cool companion piece themes-wise. or at least based on what MTL could parse) im obsessed with but if it gets translated itd immediately get caught up in culture war bullshit re:localization because the text is too woke

that's interesting. i feel like miku's unrealistic, artificial sound is a key part of her brand (its certainly a common feature in some of my favorite songs), so it makes sense that they're trying really hard to avoid stuff that gets too close to realism, despite how trendy it is rn.

crystal @crystal.nekoweb.org · 12/03/2026

okay i've thought a little more about this. honestly its a bit out there but i see pochita's logic. denji keeps making self-destructive decisions just so he can be chainsaw man; a normal life just isnt enough. so maybe removing chainsaw man from the equation is the solution. maybe? who knows.
