It's been such a great year for foraging in Scotland! Have found bilberries, raspberries, redcurrants, chanterelles, hawthorns, and brambles among other things :) Hoping to pick some chestnuts soon as there are a few trees nearby! Kind of inspired to sculpt a series of little hedgerow spirits too 🥹

These cutie pies flew the nest last week (thank you so much to the person who ordered them!! 🥰). Took a quick pic before shipping them off! :)

Our brave lil doggie just bagged his first Munro (>3000 ft peak)! Great climb despite the rain - the trail got quite steep and boggy at times, and a bit of scrambling was involved closer to the summit, but he was hopping around like a mountain goat all the way. 🥹

There's no greater happiness than the happiness of a young dog that's just realised we're about to go for a walk in the woods. Barking, running back and forth, jumping, and that's before we've even left the house. We were out before sunrise, which meant we got to experience a quiet, beautiful forest

The north door at St Edward’s Church, Stow-on-the-Wold, Cotswolds, has an ancient and knobbly yew tree on each side of the door. It is thought it may have inspired Tolkien for “Doors of Durin.” #AdoorableThursday #AlphabetChallenge #WeekKforKn #Trees #Churches #Literature #Photography #Cotswolds

Tolkien was a professor at Oxford University which is not far away and he was known to have visited the Cotswold and Stow in particular.
The Doors of Durin are in Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.
This church porch was built about 300 years ago with the yew saplings planted at the same time. They are now part of the architraves of the door.

Today's #SciArtSeptember theme is #crescent I tend to always draw a full moon when I draw the moon but here's a much earlier drawing with a crescent moon. You can see how much my art has developed and yet, this still has a certain charm, I think :)

Sometimes he doesn't follow the exact scent trail I've laid out for him but he almost always finds the meatball in the end. I don't know how he does it, because sometimes he can't find something that's right in front of his face. I think he'd enjoy proper scent work of some sort.
