Playbooks are a clique of goblins in the same tribe, and your harm clock is just your six goblins. Each hit kills one. Your playbook moves are things like “when you use explosives, you don’t immediately kill all your goblins” establishing that other players DO. But only if that playbook is in use.

For a moderate risk game, a variation could be useful specifically for TPK situations. In the variant, The DS rule would only proc at the end of a TPK scene. If only your DS dies, no effect. The conditions weren’t right. The feedback into the ongoing game is my favorite part of the DS rule.
