Maybe this government is different. But Given the murders committed in British soil by Russians using exotic poisons, chemical weapons and isotopes, I'd still say we aren't alarmed enough. Only now do seen to be waking up to the risk of foreign donations, for example

I do but I guess being blasé about the corrupting sea of Russian money we were and are afloat on, plus failing to recognise the power of malevolent influence operations in a social media world has left us terribly vulnerable. Add on to that our soft spot for America

Also. Does anyone think it isn't still going on? Because if so, our politicians should be a LOT more alarmed. And they don't seem to be

I'm starting to think that, despite its tax status, Facebook isn't really an Irish company.

Great stuff from the Telegraph. archive.ph/r2nTA
A 29-year-old woman, who wished to remain anonymous, said the high levels of unemployment were “noticeable” in the area.
“When you go into Somali town, as we call it, you just see people outside in the cafes,” she said, gesturing down the road, before adding: “It annoys me, they are loitering around and doing nothing.”
Addressing her own career path, the 29-year-old said: “I can’t work at the moment because of my mental health. Of course I want to work, I went to uni and studied English Literature for two years. I want to be a writer.”

European capitals should now stop talking and instead seize Russian assets in Euroclear to expedite funding to Ukraine Lots of thinking has been done on how to overcome Belgium's opposition. Those plans should now be put in place

In every conceivable way it isn't. 🚨Already shown to lead to people sent to Rwanda being trafficked, predominantly into Europe. 🚨People seeking asylum aren't put off by it as they just won't seek asylum and will instead become undocumented. 🚨Costs a metric fuck tonne for no benefits whatsoever.

Rishi Sunak: Admit it, Rwanda is the only way to stop the boats

Critics said it was fantasy that we could leave the ECHR and secure our border. The real fantasy is thinking there's an alternative

Are the carriages much grubbier and worn these days. Last time I traveled the train has been cleaned of rubbish but there was a huge stain on my seat (I moved) and everything looked worn out. The loo wasn't great either

On National Poetry Day, here’s a short poem about the power of poetry to change the world.
The Power of Poetry

with things falling apart
and anarchy let loose,

it was only poetry, he found,
which had any use,

so he reached for his copy
of The Complete Works of Yeats

and bludgeoned the President
of the United States
