Through reaching out to others, it became clear to us that the name cRxeate wasn’t the easiest to say or spell! So we have been working hard on a new name, a new logo & some exciting events to take us into the autumn!

*Call for Submissions* In Feb we submitted a proposal to be part of a programme of ‘special edition’ events hosted by the National Poetry Library. We recently learnt our submission was accepted & we have been invited to take part in an online health-themed poetry showcase on 19/11/25!

I love how mindful it is as I have concentrate fully & whilst making it get completely lost in the flow of the process. Has anyone else tried cross stitch or embroidery? What have you made? Or any other textile crafts you enjoyed. I would love to try knitting one day too!

I’ve recently discovered a new creative hobby: embroidery/ cross stitch. I bought a small cross stitch kit from hobbycraft & really enjoyed making the butterfly. Then I was gifted some beautiful kits from cotton_clara so have moved onto these cute funghi.

I’m reading Expert by Roger Kneebone for @oncologybookclub.bsky.social Fascinated by this section when he describes how an expert embroiderer and vascular surgeon learn from each other; a beautiful example of connection between creativity & medicine.

In 2023 she had two poems published by Public Sector Poetry and was commissioned by English Touring Opera to write and perform ‘Love’s Monologue’. She is a busy mum of three also enjoying hillwalking in the various National Parks and ballet.

Having spent so many years dedicated to medicine she now enjoys the balance the arts bring to her life and is an active member of Buxton Spoken Word, regularly performing in local arts festivals and recitals, most recently performing Dylan Thomas’s Under Milk Wood at the Buxton Fringe Festival.
