Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 07/08/2026"The girls walk by, dressed up for each other..." Did I bother with makeup for my own wedding? Hell nah. Did I just buy lipstick and eyeliner for Broadway night out with the girls tomorrow? Hell yes! #RockyHorror 010
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 06/08/2026Going through my wardrobe, looking for something to wear to the Rocky Horror Show on Bway. Was in 2 casts as a teen and want to revisit the fashion w/o going too costumey. Digging deep into the clothing archives is such a fascinating look at my life. Kept 1 or 2 things from past interests each. 110
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 01/08/2026Cannot think of a better way to wrap up my birthday trip than visiting my beloved @spionchen.anomaly.moe on our way home. Except a visit that also includes some great margaritas, of course! 130
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 31/07/2026New curiosity: Why does NH have more vanity plates than anywhere else? We have seen more vanity plates in the past 4 days than in my first 50 years of life. All NH. Fascinating. 100
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 31/07/2026One last view of our gorgeous hotel. Have wanted to stay here since I was 4, wasn't sure if anything could live up to my dreams. Better than I imagined! Top-notch hospitality in my now-3rd favorite place on earth (besides my home and the Dolomites, of course). 3rd to last bucket list item ✅ 010
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 31/07/2026Finally got to see Mt Washington before we leave NH! I kinda want to live on this veranda forever. The Presidentials are truly magnificent and I can't wait to come back and climb them in weather more like this. But even our backup hikes were amazing, there is no bad hiking here! 120
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 30/07/2026How it started, how it ended. Great 50th bday and I am truly the luckiest woman in the world that this man walks beside me whether we are on a mountain, in the field, on stage, or in the arcade. 2-2 on air hockey. Tomorrow the tie-breaker after we climb a mountain. 120
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 30/07/2026This is the kind of stuff making this lifelong, very open-minded space fan sorta hate space. It justifies so many reasons most people are pretty against space exploration absolutely perfectly. I can't sell exploration to anyone if it means ruining our home. 010
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 29/07/2026The Full Moon Dinner tonight may not wind up featuring the moon, but apparently our hotel has an astrophysicist who will give a talk. I'm assuming they did not mean to imply they have an astrophysicist on full-time staff, but the way the guy said it made it sound like that's normal for a hotel 😂 020
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 29/07/2026Lucked out today with no rain and accidentally bagged our first NH mountain (the relatively small Mt Avalon, 3440') when we were just going to some low waterfalls due to the forecast. It just kept... Not storming. Yay! So far, 50 is pretty cool! 120
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 28/07/2026Entered the White Mountains and almost immediately a bear ran out to the highway like a greeting party! First stop, a niche bookstore about mountains. Is there anything better than a super specific indie bookstore? Yes. A niche bookstore also famous for its map selection! 000
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 27/07/2026Very tiny astronomy fan rant: I wound up planning my 50th bday around this Full Moon dinner and there will be no moon. Two days out, 96% cloud cover. It is the most incredibly OF COURSE thing ever. What possessed me to plan around the sky in the mountains? 🤦♀️🤣 100
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 23/07/2026Most of the time, I love being a tiny person. My center of gravity kicks ass for so many things, I can fit comfortably in small spaces, and I can always get to the front of a crowd. But damn, it can be hard to be a small person who likes to carry a lot of stuff on her back. Head bonks get old... 010
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 23/07/2026It's so hard to believe I have been completely alone in the woods for over an hour only 2 miles from NYC. On a "very crowded" trail. That is basically empty. You can literally walk here from the NYC subway! 010
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 23/07/2026Anyone else obsessed with the Little Red Lighthouse and the Big Grey Bridge as a kid? What a view of those friends! Still makes my heart go all squishy. 120
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 23/07/2026Talk about a different kind of view from a hiking trail!! Truly unique hiking spot that I have somehow ignored my whole life. Someday I will follow this trail all the way to the Adirondacks... #goals 030
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 23/07/2026Suicide hotline call box at the entrance to the George Washington Bridge north walkway. Odd thing to see at the start of a hike, but then, the GWB is even odder. Glad it's there and I hope people use it! 110
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 22/07/2026I totally get why schools put hi-viz vests on the toddler train kids. It's smart! But it still makes them look like tiny little chain gangs. 020
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 13/07/2026AI has destroyed my productivity. I feel like I spend hours getting rid of it on things every week as someone tries to sneak it onto my devices in some new, utterly useless at best, offensive at worst, form. It makes early Windows bloatware seem benevolent. At least that was easy to delete! 010
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 05/07/2026Catching up on DC after such a fabulous day in progressive land is... Jarring. To those who posted it, thank you for your service. A red hat guy in Hoboken tried to start a, "USA! USA!" chant and he just got dirty looks and gave up after 3. Then we all cheered for British bombers. Different. 000

Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 05/07/2026Just before the Macy's fireworks started, the heat broke and dropped to 84F, then a cool ocean breeze ran right up the Hudson and provided the happy crowd with nature's ac. They were so vintage-y this year! Quiet and full of just stunning old-skool cool fireworks. 120
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 05/07/2026I swear, the ol' spacetweep magic has been in FORCE today. Found the last spot in the crowded shade for the naval parade. The best soccer pub had a perfect table for us. Now we have found a terrific spot for the fireworks. Thanks for making today amazing, @vtjawo.bsky.social!! 130
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 04/07/2026Been trying to upload air and naval parade pics and Bluesky is just not having it. But what a morning! We found a bit of that ol' spacetweep magic and the last shady spot on Pier A in Hoboken. It was glorious (despite hell heat) until a band started playing mid-late 90s pop hits. 😂 020
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 01/07/2026My town has these "toddler trains" of day care kids that go to the parks to play. There are 3 walking down my block right now chanting, "Let's go Knicks!" at the top of their tiny lungs. 😁 000
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 30/06/2026The World Cup is weird. One day you are simply watching some soccer. Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 24/06/2026This is such a beautiful sentiment that captures how I feel about our visitors. I have many issues with FIFA and the 2026 World Cup management but seeing excited fans from all over the world wherever I go has been such a pleasure. It's so different from regular tourism, so much happier. 240
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 24/06/2026The British are coming! The British are coming! Okay, really only England fans, but just spotted my first crop of English jersey-wearers with huge suitcases in tow here in New Jersey and got a little overexcited. I feel like our local pub scene might be a bit more fun than usual this week. 110
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 24/06/2026The night Sandy flooded my town, when the waters hit high enough on the cars, all the horns started blaring. Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 24/06/2026Watched a few skates by figure skating octogenarians today, some were competing at adult Worlds, others just showing off their jumps and fancy footwork. I wish I had such a clean, pretty waltz jump in my 20s! Really drives home what "lifelong sport" means. 35 days to 50 for me. No excuses. 000
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 19/06/2026Well, all this hiking has done the impossible: I just realized I haven't woken up crying for at least a week. For almost 4 years that was practically a daily morning ritual. And I am pretty sure even the man who lives with me has had no idea. It's really easy to hide depression. 020
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 19/06/2026The rule of thumb to pack 10% of your bodyweight for normal day hikes is fine, but the 20% for backpacking is literally impossible when you max out at 100 lbs on a heavy day. You can tell men made these guidelines. 😂 20% of my bodyweight felt like I was carrying nothing today. Next time, 30%. 000

Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 19/06/2026So, I'm wandering down this lonely trail and I see a guy and think, "That shade of red shirt really reminds me of the shuttle launch 'I Was There' shirts." Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 19/06/2026I am almost entirely alone on a trail. So, of course, this awful woman, the only other hiker, is having a super loud zoom meeting, screaming about office attire at full volume, with her UNLEASHED dog, in a wildlife conservation area. 120
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 19/06/2026You would think that a junked car as a trailhead sign would be obvious. But apparently either the earth has finally reclaimed it or the NY/NJ Trail Conference finally hauled it out. Stick to watching blazes and your map, folks! 010
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 19/06/2026I will never get enough of the juxtaposition of these little succulents(?) with the NYC skyline in the other direction. Why is this plant growing on a rock in NJ? I have no idea what it is but this is the only place I see them locally. Hence the name "Cactus Ledge" for the viewpoint. #Ramapo 110
Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 19/06/2026Hiking with a half-filled 34L pack on local trails feels extremely silly. But I know it will pay off and future me will be grateful. Or at least, I sure hope so! #TrainingDay 050

Craft Lass @craftlass.bsky.social · 16/06/2026Since I've been in hiking clothes a lot lately, I'm starting to realize all other clothing sucks. Moisture wicking rules, as does quick drying. 100
