Studies early on from Biobank showed that COVID can change the structure of the brain. I thought at the time the government would respond to this research by advising ffp2 respirators and clean air and vaccines but the advice just isn’t filtering through.

Broadview, IL police arrested and cited 3 protesters (all since released) outside the Broadview ICE processing/detention center this morning after a prayer group concluded. It was a busy morning for transport—reporters witnessed ICE move over a dozen detainees from the facility.

Due to state law, ICE detainees are moved from IL out of the state to neighboring states with official detention centers (or, to flights at Gary Airport). We watched transport officers separate people into sheriff's vans bound for IN and, according to the driver's uniform, Dodge County, WI.

🚨🧊 ICE all over the highway at 90/94 & 55. Looks like Indiana sheriff is helping out. @govpritzker.illinois.gov is this allowed? This isn't IN. Why are they trafficking humans on highways that are paid for with Illinoisans' tax dollars?

ICE and for some reason an IN sheriff's dept vehicle and K9 detaining a man along 90/94 and 55 (and clogging up traffic on a hugely busy traffic weekend).

(RNS) — Last month, the Rev. David Black stood in front of a Chicago-area U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility and spread his arms wide. Adorned in all black and wearing a clerical collar, the pastor looked up at a group of masked, heavily armed ICE agents on the roof and began to pray.

“I invited them to repentance,” Black, a minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA), said in an interview. “I basically offered an altar call. I invited them to come and receive that salvation, and be part of the kingdom that is coming.”

But when Black began to lower his arms a few seconds later, the agents responded to his spiritual plea by firing pepper balls, or chemical agents that cause eye irritation and respiratory distress, video footage shows. One struck Black in the head, exploding into a puff of white pepper smoke and forcing him to his knees. Fellow demonstrators rushed to his aid, and as the pastor rubbed his face in pain, the agents continued to fire.

“We could hear them laughing,” Black said.
