Dolly never tried to hide her faith, but she was judicious with how it was conveyed. Like Fred Roger’s, everything she said and did was cloaked in love-the example that Jesus gave. Dollywood has a church that holds services on Sunday mornings. No basket in sight- may her light continue to shine.

When the Gatlinburg Wildfires happened in 2016, Dolly gave impacted families $1,000/month to help them get back on their feet. This included my father-in-law, who lost everything in the fire. Dolly gave children in TN free books each month, from birth to the age of five. She was a goddamn saint.

I live two hours from Dollywood. Season pass holder almost my entire life. I went there with my grandmother when I was 5. I rode my first rollercoaster there with my dad. My kids rode their first rollercoaster with my dad there as well. She is the best thing TN and the south has ever produced.
