Annual count of banned books by @penamerica.bsky.social finds that 11,982 books were banned in public schools during the 2025-2026 school year. It's the highest number of recorded bans in a single year since PEN America began tracking book bans in 2021. Most of those bans are in Florida and Texas.

⛽️ Florida’s gas prices rose 18 cents last week before declining 6 cents through the weekend. On Sunday, the state average for a gallon of gas was $4.37. That’s $1.42 per gallon more than last year. The average driver is now paying $65 to fill their tank, as opposed to $44 at this time last year.
