Bull-leaping is one of the most enduring images from the Aegean Bronze Age. This image features on frescoes and objects from the Palace of Knossos and could be linked with the passing down of the myth of the Minotaur.

This beautiful ribbed sake bottle is from 17th–century Japan. On each of the ribbed sections, the character fuku (good luck) is repeated seven times. Decorating it with multiple fuku characters in this way expressed a wish for health and prosperity.

This #RemembranceDay, we honour the submariners of AE2. Before the ANZACs landed at Gallipoli, AE2 became the first Allied submarine to breach the Dardanelles, “running amok” to disrupt enemy supply lines. Scuttled after five days of daring action, all 35 crew survived.
