Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 07/03/2026If Ireland were to win this 6 Nations, it would definitely be the funniest way they've won a championship. 110
Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 28/02/2026For all Ulster's improvements, they've got one prop on contract next season who is not a dreadful scrummager. Both set pieces were poor, but scrum being utterly uncompetive meant they had no respite in the second half. 100
Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 14/02/2026Rugby has changed a lot since the last World Cup and a lot of Irish rugby has bitched and whined about it. The exception has been Ulster, so it's unsurprising to me that the best Irish players today were the Ulster players and lads not originally from Ireland. 011
Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 09/02/2026After a very miserable sporting weekend, this Superbowl is helping the mood. 010
Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 05/02/2026That was a mess of a performance from Ireland. There was lipstick added to the pig, but they look a poorly coached and poorly selected team. Farrell needs to do what Gatland after the Twickenham destruction in 2000, but he won't. 110
Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 05/02/2026This needs to be the end of a few test careers. 010
Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 01/11/2025Something needs to change with this Ireland team. Haven't really looked like scoring a try since Furlong scored. They consistently don't have a set piece and there is no pace anywhere in this team. 120
Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 18/10/2025Take out the scrum and Ulster have been really good here, but injuries could come back and bite here. Also, hard to see how we aren't flying out backrows for next week given Augustus went off at HT, Reffell looks to have a banjaxed arm, Timoney off on Ireland duty. 000
Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 15/10/2025The Ireland squad is so pathetic and cowardly from the coaches. Zero ambition to try and change. It's a squad that would make you believe that Ireland weren't crap in 6 of their last 8 tests against Tier 1 nations (and one of those was against Scotland who usually shit the bed v Ireland). 100
Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 30/08/2025As a bad boss of PGMOL, having been a bang average ref, and a former South Yorkshire bizzie, Howard Webb may be one of the worst humans in football. 000
Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 12/07/2025I think this means that we are watching the 1st test centres tonight and probably increases Owen Farrell's chances of being on the bench as 10 and 12 cover, with Hansen and Freeman in contention for 14 shirt and the other on the bench. 010
Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 03/06/2025If you want to show ambition and appoint a good coach, the IRFU will make it happen. Meanwhile, if you have a clueless bluffer of a GM who can't/won't identify competent coaches, you get lumbered with the IRFU picks and go down the toilet. 110

Maybe he’s not an elite coach, and he defo can be a sour fella (can’t we all) - but genuinely think he’s still probably a good guy and good company. Again, happy for him. 061
Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 16/05/2025The only team I'm fairly confident will finish below Ulster next season are the Dragon's. We have no URC standard loosehead, no convincing URC lock in 2025, one 9 with the talent to play in the URC but not the attitude, a 21 year old 10 and no real alternatives, and a joke shop of senior players. 120
Reposted by Colin McBride🎃👻 Squeal Pferd 👻🎃 @dasneilpferd.bsky.social · 16/05/2025Thank feck that season's over. Plenty at Ulster, players, coaching staff and administration at the club, need to use the long break to have a hard look at themselves. Not good enough. So little to pin hope on. Far too many don't have Ulster's best interests at heart, no matter what they think. 162
Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 11/05/2025The first half showed why we are champions. Really clever and controlled aggression. The second half showed why we went out to PSG. Lack of pace, lose duels, and drop-off in attacking and midfield options from the bench. 000
Reposted by Colin McBrideHari Sethi @harisethi.bsky.social · 11/05/2025Not sure what on earth folks expected with Trent. The way he’s engineered his exit always left him open to this sort of emotional reaction. Wouldn’t pay too much heed to lectures/moralising from rival fans around what’s appropriate or not. A distraction no one needs. 52712

When some combination of universities and either the social care system or the councils that fund it start collapsing on your watch, no one's gonna care that you got a few good headlines first. 23541141
Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 10/05/2025The amount of Ulster fans still pushing this narrative that we have a top 8 squad is worrying. There are talented players, but fundamentally, there are gaps all over the place that no amount of coaching can cover up (and I say that as somebody not remotely convinced by the coaches). 100

Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 03/05/2025So much money has been spent by Leinster, yet it is baffling they've persisted with Leo Cullen for so long. The bloke is terrified by his own shadow when it comes to making big decisions. It might be better if they don't win the URC as there is no way he can survive that. 010

Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 24/04/2025As an Ulster fan, I don't think I'll be taking lectures from Matt Williams about pro rugby, technical knowledge, and winning given he was the worst coach Ulster have had in the pro era while also being a thundering bellend. 010

Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 13/04/2025Liverpool have been dreadful this half. If West Ham score before the 90th minute, they'd be the more likely team to get a winner. 100
Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 12/04/2025Connacht have been absolutely appalling since being 21-5 and a man up. It's not hard to see why it isn't just the attack coach on their way out. 000
Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 08/04/2025This has been the case all season with Europe compared to domestic football. Their best 'spells' of football in last three season have been pre WC in 22/23, post FA Cup exit in 23/24, and CL in 24/25 when they've looked like they are enjoying it rather than trying the Sufferball crap. 000
Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 08/04/2025Vinicus: he's a cod Bill. Having one player who can't/won't run is a risk, but if you are getting end product, you can just about get away with it. But 4 not running is never going to end well. Real have been poor against anybody half decent all season, and it's coming home to roost now. 000
Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 29/03/2025For all the individual quality the Sharks have, to be serving up this turgid crap on a regular basis is embarrassing. 000
Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 29/03/2025It might be peak Connacht to score, then completely fluff the take from the kick-off, and then concede a walk-in try against 14 men (all in an Interpro). 000
Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 28/03/2025That felt like the first time this season that Ulster have played well for a significant chunk of a match, in a way that you can take something from it going forward. There are still defensive issues, but they feel more like individual issues in the system rather than a daft, outdated system. 000
Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 25/03/2025It does make it a lot easier to accept a player leaving when they've spent a decent chunk of the last 2 years hitching the skirt to Real Madrid and wandering around the pitch with his head up his hole in too many big games. 000
Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 22/03/2025Even Ulster, a team so poorly coached that they almost lost to the Dragons and were ripped to pieces for 40 minutes, have exit strategies. Now, they might not be good strategies, but at least they exist! Surely Gatland is basically unemployable in rugby. 020
Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 22/03/2025Ulster's attack would be no worse without an attack coach. There will be AIL teams with more of an attacking structure than this tripe. 020
Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 22/03/2025Honestly, Ulster absolutely stink. To be even worse in the first 15 minutes than this clown ref is some effort. 100
Colin McBride @colinmcbride.bsky.social · 17/03/2025I'm so done with Farrell and his gang of hucksters. For me, this makes Ireland's summer tour of a waste of time with the worst of the actual coaches left behind and means we'll be lumbered with the same players in the autumn as this 6 Nations, all with an increased role for Sexton. 000
