Growing up in Mississippi you see this a lot around race. There really aren’t that many full blown, snarling racists, but there are a decent number of “I just like whites more” types and a *lot* of go-along-to-get-along “My uncle told me that’s a bad neighborhood” types.

Here’s the thing, I would be *fine* with a broad based agenda of “we want families to make whatever arrangement they want to work work for them.” If some of that’s a stipend for stay at home parents, great!
