1. yes, that band-aid is comically large and almost in my eyeball. I didn't have anything smaller in the house alas. yes it is annoying 2. the dermal came out pretty quickly and was relatively painless. I think it was probably already rejecting, hence the lifting and infection

update! doc was only willing to give me antibiotics and didn't want to cut it out and the piercer was willing to take it out but didn't have the appropriate tools to do it at the time, so guess who got impatient and yoinked her dermal out using a piece of floss tonight?

oop I think my dermal is infected. 9 months later mind you, completely out of the blue. awesome 👍 I think I will just head to the doc tomorrow and ask them to remove it, too much trouble and I'm not risking regular infections close to my eye and cheekbone

I enjoyed The Odyssey (2026) but I have one historical nitpick. The phrase “Jiminy Christmas” is a minced oath for “Jesus Christ”. As the story is set around 1200 B.C. it is unlikely that Odysseus would have said the phrase even once, let alone the dozens of times he says it in the film

fwiw vets removing the animal is less about us, more about pets behaving better when their owners aren’t there. this has generally been true for all my cats except monkey who would bite everyone regardless of whether I was in the room or not 😌
