A Cooper's Hawk visited the bird bath today. 🦅🌱

Grandpa's WWI navy tattoo photoshoot in 1967 is when I learn there was a World War One. #militaryhistory #WWI
A five year old child wearing a red shirt and red shorts sits on grass looking up at the camera. A slightly bloody band-aid is peeling off the child's leg. In the foreground is a grandfather's pale arm, shirt sleeve rolled up to show a faded dark blue tattoo.

Yes every woman has been harassed, many assaulted. But every woman has also experienced invisible loss from moments she avoided harassment. She felt a space becoming unsafe, so she left, while men stayed on. And in leaving, she lost: opportunities, experiences, learning, promotions, even simply fun.

My Canon Pixma printer also recently died -- ink jets fused according to the error code -- and it was 2006 vintage, so I let it go. Replaced it with another Canon Pixma, the TR8600. It's a middle of the road printer. It does everything decently. Cost $243 with tax and shipped directly from Canon.

Have been reading @karenhao.bsky.social's excellent "Empire of AI" and what I've gathered is AI job automation isn't the main hell. The hell is AI already being used for global worker super exploitation and surveillance on a level an 1830s piecework factory boss could only dream of.

What the fuck, Joyce. I don’t even read romance novels but this kind of thinking pisses me the fuck off. It further pushes that mentality that some books as “lesser” which is bullshit! All books count!
Joyce Carol Oates
This is why Al-generated romance novels make perfect sense. Formulaic fiction doesn't need to be written by hand, so to speak; what difference does it make if a machine "writes" it? There are machine-made clothes & there are custom-made clothes. They appeal to different consumers.
