Implemented a simple red/green indicator system to prevent the trash from being taken out when the bag has plenty of space left. Red = stop, leave the bag alone. Green = good to go outside. #firstworldproblems

People are irrationally concerned about cameras on glasses. There are so, so many other more valid and consequential concerns about privacy. A camera on some fool's stupid glasses is at the very bottom of the list. It's like people who try to save the planet by not using plastic straws. Useless.

This season of Formula 1 has been so bad that yesterday was the first time I didn’t watch a full grand Prix since 2014. Even when the track isn’t miserable, the racing is boring. The sport will be in trouble if next season is anything like this one.

I love Home Assistant. My latest obsession is lights that trigger to dos. Cat litter box needs cleaning? The litter box light turns on. Water bowls need refilling? The water bowl light turns on. Garbage day is tomorrow? The garbage light turns on. I'll put together a blog post about it all soon.

My telescope is going outside to do some observing later tonight. I’m excited to take advantage of the warm weather and good visibility.

A detailed weather and astronomy forecast display for Tuesday, July 14, centered on 12:14 PM Pacific Time. The interface presents multiple data layers across a 24-hour timeline from approximately 11 AM to 3 AM the following day.

The top section displays cloud cover conditions as a horizontal bar chart, with darker blue indicating denser cloud coverage. Cloud opacity values are labeled throughout (ranging from kp 1.3 to kp 3.0), showing variable cloud conditions across the forecast period.

Below this lies a sunrise/sunset visualization. A yellow curve with a solid line represents the sun's position, peaking around 20:30 (8:30 PM) with the sun icon indicator. A dotted yellow line shows twilight duration. A white dashed horizontal line marks the horizon, with sunset timing indicated as 21:12 (9:12 PM).

Tried the Race Star DLX Flex from Bell Helmets and it's exactly as disappointing as I expected. The vents are difficult to operate, the visor detents are poor, and my ears press against hard parts not covered by padding. It's remarkable how few good helmets exist. Shoei RF-1400, and that's it.
