I need to get off this website because all it does is piss me off sometimes bc its clear some of y'all don't care about engaging with references and metaphor ( insisting its 1 to 1 all the time, ie. Thomase Moore Utopia is proof ancients bad and evil ) just bc you don't like an aspect of the story.

img of the pokémon black and white box art: people when the nuance game has nuance and there's no such thing as 'purely good guys' and 'purely bad guys'. yes even The Character you hate has a reason why they're like that.

people are so fucking weird abt garlemald. They're either full-send fascists or they're jerking it to punitive justice in the restorative justice game.

anger and spite is a powerful motivator esp when you've been lied to the entire time. it's not even the acts themselves that hurt, it's the not trusting her. Her looking physically put together is another mask she's putting on... but hey, she has ardbert's support, and in the end, that's enough.

Gotta have the kindest eyes and be brunet. But less of a physical trait, they gotta be unable to die correctly. They have to have some supernatural quasi-situational immortality. Immunity to murder/suicide type shit. Neither Hikari nor Ardbert can die correctly.

my favorite use of the wol echo is when they get it while someone is actively explaining something and it’s the exact same thing the person is explaining so when the wol gets back they’re fully caught up and presumably the person was still speaking the whole time they were having an absent seizure

considering hikari is doman she had a lot of personal stakes in making sure zenos bit it + making sure no more countrymen of hers died to imperial occupation + deep down somewhere very suppressed she does like fighting things stronger than her. All in all a bad situation for her to be in.

Wilred shows up with Papalymo. The victims of the waking sands show up to help against livia's bossfight. Rihtahtyn has moved on, and is instead replaced by Hikari's personal boogeyman that was killed by Zenos during the Doma assassination plot, though not without a firm handshake between them.

hikari rolled in on a dinky little fishing boat made specifically for fishing in the one river from doma. she dodged conscription w the help of her parents and was sent away, and her vessel bonked against the limsa docks. brennan is the one who helped her out of the boat.

Regarding jp pronouns hikari uses oira but switches to ore when she's angry ( read, catastrophically furious ) or wants to be taken more seriously--english quivalent would be enunciating every word so her voice is clear and not misunderstood with her xak turali accent.

I think about this at least a dozen times a day.

people end up unable to see depiction as anything other than endorsement when their entire cultural diet is escapist fun and reassurance. they see something make them uncomfortable and can only assume people are watching horrible shit as vicarious pleasure and are horrified.

Biggest is letting Wilred go off on his own by telling him to always follow his gut. He was the little brother she never had and she feels her advice got him killed and she hangs onto it through stb.
