Publish it again. Every journalist who has published Epstein stuff before should just publish it again.

Yesterday, Maurene Comey, who prosecuted the Epstein case, was summarily fired from SDNY. Her letter to colleagues pulls no punches. "Fear is the tool of a tyrant, wielded to suppress independent thought." h/t @msnbc.com

If you’d told me a decade ago that the NYT and WaPo would roll over for a Republican president going full fascist while the Murdoch-owned Wall Street Journal went on the attack — and that Bill Kristol was pressing the attack harder than Nancy Pelosi — well, I’d have had you committed.

my friend Coral Coral is a young goliath grouper, resident to a reef in the Florida Keys. There were once countless groupers here, of all different species. They’ve been hunted nearly to extinction. Like the few living coral formations on her reef, she survives here in spite of us. #MarineLife

The Texas flood is another example of a rain event, that statistically, happens once every 500-1000 years in this location. 15-20” of rain in 12-24 hrs meets threshold in this part of TX Estimate is limited by historical record and these rare events happen in various localized places each year. 1/

This is bullshit. Not only do ICE bounty hunters refuse to identify themselves, they won’t say where they’re taking the people they’re kidnapping. Deliberately shuffling detainees from facility to facility so families can’t find them & they miss their chance at legal counsel. (Anaheim, CA)

The fact we have secret police whisking people off the streets doesn’t get enough attention. It ain’t normal and we’re further down the road to authoritarianism than you think.

Happy 4th of July!
A statue of a Union soldier with fireworks in the backroundPeople watching a fireworks show to celebrate the 4th of JulyOn this 4th I'm celebrating the continuous pursuit of America ideals. A nation of laws. A nation where all men are equal, regardless of race, religion or creed. A nation where those free men are guaranteed life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. No kings.

From our founders, to our heros in arms, to all the civil rights leaders here at home, we are a nation unbent. Defiance is in our blood. We chased out a monarchy, broke the cruel practice of slavery, defended the free world in its darkest hours, and we marched. We marched to give women equal rights in their country. We marched to give black men and black women equal rights in their country. We marched to give gays the right to get married and love openly and peacefully in their country. And one by one, struggle by struggle, these true patriots - most of who history will never remember - pushed this nation closer to its founding values.

We are a beautiful project. A project built on rejecting the the dark impulses that wish to subdo men and rob them of life and liberty. Our history is beautiful, messy, contradictory. Our project is never complete. The work to push our country closer to its true values continues. I'm proud of that work. I'm proud each and every day to be an American.

Apathy is the enemy. No matter what happens in D.C. focus on local elections. Sheriffs, commissioners, judges, school boards, tax collectors - they all matter. Every election is the most important election.

Teddy says it a lot better than I can
One of my favorite quotes from one of our greatest presidents, Teddy Roosevelt:

"Here is your country. Cherish these natural wonders. Cherish the history and romance as a sacred heritage, for your children and their children's children. Do not let selfish men or greedy interests skin your country of its beauty, its riches or its romance."

I mean, at this point we've known the refs will let NY play with a level of physicality they won't let Detroit play with. Still, it's pretty insane to see game in and out

Pistons were up double digits in 3 of the 4 4th quarters. Close out games and they're likely moving on. But still. BUT STILL! ABSOLUTELY insane non calls to end both game 3 and 4. Just insanely frustrating all around

This. Exactly this. The Pistons are right there. As mad as I am about the officiating, one less turnover, one more made shot, and this is a different series. This is a great learning experience for the Pistons about how little things matter between winning and losing

Series reminds me 2002 Pistons vs. Celtics - the hope, the highs, the letdowns, and the promise that better is on the horizon. They’re *right* there and can be special in the next year or two.

JB:" These last couple of games it’s hard for me to believe Cade's only getting to the free throw line four times … it's a little surprising that he doesn’t get to the free throw line more. I think sometimes he’s refereed differently because he’s a big guard."

Comfortably Dumb - BlueSky Edition @climaterschust.bsky.social · 27/04/2025
It should of never come down to that shot. The Pistons haven't closed out a 4th once. Cade needs to stop turning the ball over. Needed to hit that last shot. It was still a foul. NYK is still allowed to be much more physical than the Pistons. And that continues to be one of the biggest differences
