It’s been brought to my attention that the Economist cover story is blaming Gen-Z socialism on “an influential group of socialist academics” led by @isabellamweber.bsky.social. Turns out Gen-Z got radicalized by … our analysis of corporate earnings calls. Huge if true!

I’m happy to share that today I was awarded the 2026 Craufurd Goodwin Best Article on the History of Economics for my paper on Warren Nutter’s Soviet economy esearch at the CIA.
