Yeah, I can hear a piper right now. I don't mind him at all. But the various amplified guys are all awful. Especially the woman who does opera and the man who sings like he's having a difficult poo. There have always been buskers in this part of the city, it's the amps that are new

Like, I *won't* go to Spoons, doesn't mean I can't. But if I went in and yelled a bunch of slurs, or loudly talked about how dreadful everyone there is, I suspect I would quickly become unwelcome.

Interesting switch from "won't go" to "no-go", there. "No-go" suggests unwelcome, "won't go" suggests unwilling.

This is the upside of my city centre tenement density: I'm up 4 flights of stairs and lots of the flats are holiday let, so people don't tend to bother going door-to-door because it's a lot of effort for a strong chance of meeting nobody, or a tourist. The downside is tourists instead of neighbours.

Went to the Strongman today, and there are also Strongwomen. Same events, same kit, same prizes (lower weights). OMG these women! Rachel did a 230kg deadlift for the first time in her life, then did 2 more!

We saw orang utans, and went to see turtle babies hatch, too. And we saw all the bats in Mulu Park. I went back in 2010 with a friend, but haven't been back since. My geography is good if I've been there, but rotten otherwise

Some of my parents' friends lived in Borneo for about 5 years, so we got to stay with them for long summers. We were very, very lucky
