Her son being the stereotypical groyper to a to a tee doesn't inspires much. Probably instead of blowing fisherman, she would be completing a coup in Brazil. Different type of horrors.

Maybe they want to a fancy wildlife park like "The Wilds" in Cumberland or similar. But they just say "the zoo" so people don't rightly call out them.

"based on a true story" One of the scariest sentences you can read on a movie review.

I reanalyzed the CDC data behind the LGB “free fall” headline. It rests on a change in bisexual identification among one grade, in one wave, of one survey. Gay or lesbian identification did not change significantly. Calling it a "free fall" is sensational and just gives bad actors talking points.
Six small line charts showing the percent of U.S. high school students choosing each sexual identity response option by grade (9th to 12th), 2015 to 2025, with 95% confidence intervals. Heterosexual falls from about 85 to 90 percent before 2021 to about 73 percent in 2021 and 2023, then rises to about 78 to 80 percent in 2025. Gay or lesbian stays between about 2 and 5 percent throughout. Bisexual rises to about 12 percent in 2021 in every grade, then among 9th graders falls to about 7 percent in 2025, its 2019 level, while other grades stay near 10 percent. “Some other way,” added in 2021, falls from about 4 percent to about 2.5 percent. “Not sure” stays near 3 to 5 percent. A dotted line marks 2021, when CDC changed the response options.

It had Friday Night Lights in like the 20. But even then the rural poverty that is in the show is very idealized. lol

the praiseworthy thing here is the work done in order to bring about the environment in which the rainbow capitalists feel comfortable hoisting their pride flags. praising the capitalists themselves is pointless, they will take those flags back down for a dollar

Imo there needs to be a concerted effort at least at the state level from the party to let alone "antagonize" the police but stop "coddling" them. But there aren't enough donors interested into make the police accountable like there are interested into dismantling public education.

The ATProto has many advantages but like around 99% of the people in the site aren't interested on them because they just want a relatively safe and clean social media space that works like twitter. But that means we're stuck with the developers decision on things that seems self evident.

That is a product of this network being built around Authenticated Transfer Protocol aka ATproto. The idea is you control your user data, not the bsky as a company. And a list of people that follows you is your data, like some sort of person registry that bsky wouldn't alter.

Earlier this week, I agreed to interviews with two USA Today journalists. They wrote fantastic articles about the Cornell case that I'm proud to have been a part of. What I did not know is that their employer considers interviews to proprietary and opens up recordings to be used by any journalist.

13/ Kalani also said the “system worked the way it was supposed to” for me. I didn’t qualify for a manual review, despite depositing $21,600 into my account in eight weeks. When I asked her if DraftKings ever *did* cut people off, this is what I got:
Article excerpt: Overall, “the system worked the way it was supposed to” in my case, Kalani said. The range of behaviors and indicators that DraftKings scans for that trigger closing or manually reviewing an account didn’t ping for me, she said.

While I often played late into the night, I wasn’t playing in the wee-est hours, between 1:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m., she said.

I found this response revealing, though perhaps not in the way she’d intended it to be. I’d deposited $21,600 into my account in less than eight weeks, exhibiting just about every sign of compulsive gambling there is, according to my expert consultants. By DraftKings’ metrics, I didn’t even register for a manual review. Kalani had told me that the company was motivated to retain customers who were betting “within their means and can sustain their own entertainment.”

So I asked Kalani straight up: Does DraftKings ever cut somebody off purely based on their betting history and not because they’ve disclosed that they’ve got a problem? “Yes, we do that all the time,” she told me. She repeated the same answer when I asked her how often. I pressed again, and a spokesperson interjected, telling me he could take the question as a follow-up. I checked in later, but the company told me that “we do not share the specific number of closures.”

Fitting for it's lack of relevance that Friday Night Lights is kinda forgotten in the discourse even when it's in a totally unfit 14 position.

In case of House of Cards I don't think the first season is even that good. But sadly Spacey is such a good actor to create the type of alluring bastards on screen, so kinda understand the popularity.

Yes, season 1 was very good and well crafted to recreate the times and even the differences between households, but when only ⅕ of your content is good it shouldn't be crack into the list. The same with House of Cards. Like True Detective specifically list S1. lol

Mr. Fick said there were times when Ms. Peltola “raised her voice” at her staff. He suggested that she was grappling with her grief and that people not used to working in blue-collar environments like a commercial fishing boat might be overstating the incidents.

BlueSky saying "well I've never heard of this person" like it means something. Last week you were all telling me you'd never heard an Ed Sheeran song. At some point you have to stop and ask yourselves if the real problem is that you haven't been in touch with new music since 2013.
