How I feel right now about the British/ 🇬🇧English( whatever) political landscape is that some one wrapped in a Union Jack could whack me over the head with a flag pole & the BBC would shove a microphone in my face asking why I provoked the attacker & the Home Sec would invite the attacker for tea .

If trans people had a famous author offering legal action funding we’d see a lot of primary care colleagues paying attention.

Today, the Heritage Foundation, the org behind Project2025, took credit for driving Lonnie Bunch out the Smithsonian Institution. Bunch was the first African American and first historian to serve as head of the Smithsonian. But sure, tell me again how it’s not about racism.

Imagine seeing droughts, wildfires and new diseases and thinking that we should abandon climate targets. The Conservatives are now banning candidates from standing in elections if they believe in taking action to protect the environment. We need politicians who follow science.

To end rough sleeping you need to fund domestic violence shelters, mental health services, drug and alcohol rehabilitation programmes, let people seeking asylum work, and increase welfare spending.

What is the most Transphobic Medicines Management Committee in NHS England?
Now, you could trawl through all the ICS websites and find the ones that actually mention trans people ( It's about a quarter of them) and then you could rank by traffic light rating picking out the ones that make it hardest for trans people to access hormones rather than the ones that make it hard for cis and trans people.
You don't have to - I did.
Given that it's the same drug, same data, same population we're talking about here you'd think all areas would reach the same conclusion.
But given that the MMCs consist of people who see the world their way we can cheerfully conclude that human factors are the cause for the variations.

I won't delay any longer- congratulations North Central London ICB- your formulary has the greatest discrepancy between hormones for cis and trans people and is the only one in NHS England that has both Estradiol and Testosterone as Red ( meaning not to be prescribed in primary care).

Ironically they also have a post of Exec Director of Transition.

Now it's possible that the board and execs don't know that they hold this position and that any talk of inclusion and community support is being undermined- so if you know anyone at NCL ICB give them a nudge.

The NHS struggles to record and recognise non binary gender identities. Not surprising then that the evidence base for non binary identities is poor. Note- this is not trans masc only non binary. www.england.nhs.uk/wp-content/u...

Please just answer this one question, what’s an appropriate length of time for an adult to wait to see an nhs gender clinic, if the nhs can’t meet that target why isn’t right to choose implemented? again I’m talking about adults here not kids.

Today's ban on NHS HRT for under 18s formalises a policy that has already been in place - Noone under 18 has received a new prescription for HRT since mid 2024 (I don't know of any since late 2023). Of course this policy also raises the risk of similar action on private healthcare for under 18s.

Medical transition for trans kids is now banned for new referrals on the NHS. Trans kids in the UK can still go private or DIY (for now). This means the new clinics that replaced GIDS are close to useless at best, conversion therapy at worst. 1/5

The law on universities and free speech prevents speakers from being *disinvited after they have been invited*. It does not require universities to provide a platform to whoever demands one. Let's not mince words: the threat to cut funding to every university who disagrees with them is fascist.

A decade of trans advocacy has taught me people believe lies because they want to, not because they don't know they are lies. They believe trans people will regret our transition because they want us to regret our transition. They believe we are a "social contagion" because that is how they see us

There is the case of Croft - confirmed in the Scottish Ministers case by the Supreme Court as good law - which conflicts with this judgement and is not addressed in it. There will be appeals in these cases but right now, the law is a total mess and which ones are overturned on appeal will be key:
