Please share your feedback on how genAI destroys the livelihoods of artists on the official EU website. You can do so even if you're not an EU citizen. We have to be loud so the change will come, and practice shoes that voicing hatred towards genAI works ec.europa.eu/info/law/bet...

I'm spending this weekend tabling at #elbenwaldfestival ☀️ And sharing my space with Keisha who has an enviously good grasp of what makes great stationery and stickers. Check out her work! ✨ www.keisha-anabela.art In two weeks, I'm off to @eurofurence.org - so many conventions this summer!

My first illustrated boardgame has just been announced! I've been working on board games for a few years now, but this is only one with a release so far. Finding the Fadenfroh art style was a very long journey, and we're all proud of the result :)

I forgot to show you my table this weekend at #berlinbrettspielcon , whoops. Thank you to all those people who came by to grab some art, discuss work or tell their stories. I find you meet some very interesting people at this event. Plus it's very relaxed and next door to my place 👍

Hard at work preparing the Being Monsters Book 1. I spent the past few weeks fixing translation and visual errors, a never-ending task. And I’ve had lots of test prints and some prototype books made, which really paid off for determining which printer I want to go with.

Julia Beutling @juliabeutling.bsky.social · 29/06/2026

The riso print I’m adding to the Being Monsters Book 1 deluxe print edition :) I like the illustration, it fits well with the book's themes. We had to noodle around for a while in the print shop to get the colors and contrasts just right, but the result turned out great!

8 years worth of ink paintings in one little #artbook :> Many of them are printed in their original size, a large part of them have never been printed before at all.

Little unboxing video for my new Tiny Inklings artbooks :) I received them on extremely short notice before Comic Salon Erlangen, so I'm only now opening all the boxes. If you'd like to have one: They're available in my shop (err... catalogue).

Comic Salon is over, I'm on my way back home. A big thank you to everyone who visited, had nice things to say, bought art, shared tips or just hung out with me 💐 It wasn't an easy event this year, as we artists were sooo hard to find in kubic. But you people were awesome ❤️

Black unicorn was the second Tiny Inkling I did, and it turned out to be a favourite of many people. It's also special for me, because it got a number of stylisation details just right. It evokes a look and feel I keep trying to get into my work (and don't often succeed).

Horned Hares was part of my little Small Myths series. Its fine art prints are basically sold out now (except for one, which a very lucky person can snatch up in Erlangen next week). But it's also printed in my new Tiny Inklings artbook, so it will not be lost to the rest of the world forever :)

Three squirrels, one of the seasonal ink paintings I did for a few years. The original is rather large for me, with 30 x 40 cm. It very much turned out to be a fan favourite at conventions.

Here's one Tiny Inklings painting I really love: Kirin herd. These kirins are intensely mythical, simultaneously solid and non-tangible, very earnest-looking and endearingly chubby. Easily one of my faves in the series.

a red angel of Death inside a dark gothic frame. a title reads "NOWHERELAND" in a drippy font. beneath my location at Comic-Salon Erlangen: Halle D, Stand 132
a poem in the frame reads: mistress death as old as time, dance you must as goes the rhyme, red as blood and pale as bone, come she will, this much is known

An underrated Tiny Inkling, I feel: Cat fright I've always liked this chubby, scared little face / gesture and the strong stylisation of leaves in this one.

Here's a favourite Tiny Inklings painting, Sun fox. It was the first fineart print of the series to be sold out. It will of course be part of my new ink artbook, making it finally available in print again.

I'll take the opportunity and repost some of my old ink paintings. Many of them are from the late 2010s, so it's high time to give them a spotlight again. This was one of my very first pictures in the Tiny Inklings series, called Three little unicorns :3

Julia Beutling @juliabeutling.bsky.social · 19/05/2026

Here's the entire book cover illustration. Even though it's been painted in coloured ink, I made a digital sketch beforehand to figure out the placement of text and overall layout. I don't do that often with traditional media artwork, but sometimes it can be a big help.

I'm busy preparing Being Monsters for print. It's a chance to rework details. Like that cover glow-up that ended up doubling the image's size and had me painting leaves and roses for days 😵‍💫 I already shared the final cover with my patrons, and I'll reveal it to the world soon, when preorders begin.

Still working in secret a lot, getting Being Monsters Book 1 ready for print! This is my ongoing #webcomic Being Monsters, a Beauty and the Beast story that’s not what you expected: www.beingmonsters.com
It’s a modern fairy tale, drama and detective story about non-conformity, making difficult decisions and peaceful coexistence. Has a gothic romance vibe and a cool monster.

Hello, Bluesky! I haven't been doing social media for a year now, but it's time to get back into it. If you know me from Insta, X, FB, Webtoon, real life: Glad to see you again :) If not: Welcome anyway! I will mainly use Bluesky in the future, most other platforms have become rather annoying now.
