The 5 Simpsons lines I’ve uttered most off the top of my head: 1. Up and At Them (in slow R. Wolf castle). 2. You gotta help us doc. We ain’t tried nothing and we’re all out of ideas. 3. You don’t make friends with salad. 4. I’m in danger! 5. I have a ball. Perhaps you’d like to bounce it.

Journal editors, advice please? Editorial staff used to be able to tell me the day, time, and time zone that an accepted manuscript would be published. But now, “that isn’t possible”. For papers with big policy implications, knowing the exact date it will appear online is really important... 1/2

This isn’t a one-off experience (either previous or recent/now) — multiple journals, editors, papers. It’s particularly perplexing with society journals for research directly related to enviro policy & practice… and support comms. Editors, what can I do? 2/2

The rivers are dark blue and highly simplified, with tick marks indicating where cities are along the rivers.A stylized map of North American rivers.
