This and also a reminder from my personal experience: if you get caught in a rip tide, swim parallel to the shore, not toward it. I didn't know that and think I would have drowned had I not been swimming with a friend who was a former life guard. He dragged me to shore.

All #NIH grants have now terminated here at #Harvard, including ours, which examined shared/distinct underlying neural & cognitive mechanisms between typical/atypical #arithmetic and #reading skills. Results would have been invaluable for development of #screening, diagnostic, & intervention tools.

The level of impatience from some commuter drivers never fails to surprise me. A lollipop lady bravely stands in the road to stop traffic and let parents cross a busy junction but then someone continues drive past the lady while she is in the road. Unbelievable that some can't wait 5 seconds! 🤬🤬🤬

Its interesting to see INSPiRE-ICU2 protocol being published recently. It's an RCT in the US comparing safety and efficacy of isoflurane vs propofol in MV ICU pts. I wonder whether the results will be similar to the recently published SESAR trial or in fact show benefit. #pharmsky #medsky
