I have a theory that a great misunderstanding in pop culture exists around the concept of Toxic Masculinity.
While it means a toxic FORM of masculinity, I think some men took it to mean masculinity ITSELF was being claimed to be inherently poisonous, and took it as an attack on males in principle.
