This was a great idea from @jayrosen.bsky.social and I can't believe press corps hasn't done it after all these years. They can come together to figure out how to host WHCD w a fascist president, but can't come together to figure out how stand up for their own vital industry (and thus US)

Just starting Mando and Grogu. So…Mando is agreeing to something like taking out John Gotti in exchange for a ‘57 Corvette? The risk-reward ratio seems terribly off

Inspired by Julie's Q, what's a "previously unreleased" version of a song you like better than the original release? Quintessential example for me is Dylan's "Forever Young" demo from Biograph. It's actually the only version of that song that achieves what I think it's aiming for

In 1996 or ‘97, I was writing for one of the first online music mags, Addicted To Noise. I was young, the internet was new, and I needed a national outlet. Pay was zero. Dave said, “You gotta make them pay you. Even if it’s a symbolic $10. Never work for free. It’s the principle.”

Reading the great Ashley Kahn on Paul Simon making Graceland (an excerpt from his forthcoming book in @mojomagazine.bsky.social ) of course it makes me think of the Dead and Dylan rehearsing The Boy in the Bubble. Weir takes vox, but do we know whose idea it was to try it?

After @dingbat1477.bsky.social & @mjstedy.bsky.social crab chip convo, I share this great offense: PNW chipmaker Tim's Cascade launched these to get in on crab chip fun. But they tried to make them local by calling them "Dungeness" crab. But very few PNW folks cook Dungeness with seasoning!

Today I noticed in the Traveling Wilburys’ Dirty World, #Dylan switches between 1st & 3rd person & closes the last verse with “Turn around and say goodbye.” In this paper, I’ll explore why the song works as a worthy successor to Tangled Up in Blue youtu.be/0HCu6pim4Ec?...
