This is an absolutely terrific piece of investigative journalism. The Inspector General system was created to create an internal watchdog to track abuses within the executive branch. Under Trump it has been completely neutered. Trump is firing IGs who do their job, and replacing them with loyalists.

FIFA gave a Peace Prize to Trump, who then launched an illegal war. Its president has repeatedly broken its own rules on political neutrality. Its billions are distributed without proper oversight, while the game is run for corrupt elites and authoritarian states. #football #soccer #worldcup
Blue-toned campaign graphic showing FIFA president Gianni Infantino and Donald Trump holding a football shirt printed with “TRUMP 26”. Overlaid text reads: “Football is for everyone – FIFA runs it for the super-rich. Tell them it’s time for a reboot.” The final line appears on a yellow banner for emphasis. At the bottom, the FairSquare logo appears alongside the word “REBOOT”. The image criticises FIFA’s relationship with political and wealthy elites and calls for reform of football governance.
