NTSB says the FO from the MIA incident auto-defenestrated via a cockpit window. Video of the other guy falling from the door (no slide?) makes the window seem like an odd choice. Long way down. Turns out there are ropes and descenders for this purpose. Cool video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=2y5l...

Corporate infosec training is filled with breathless assertions like "a single click on an emailed link can install malware" etc. I don't know if that's true or not, but one of these is: - The wrong people are being subjected to mandatory training - The material undermines itself by crying wolf

The other pilot made additional comments regarding the aircraft’s excessive speed throughout the remainder of the recording."

Watching game 1 of the Futures League championship series. The New Britain Bees are absolutely wrecking the league leading Vermont Lake Monsters in Burlington. Currently 9-0 with bases loaded and no outs in top 6th. Go Bees!

Crazy moment from the 7/11/25 Nashua @ New Britain FCBL game. It starts at 2:01:30 with Dave York's walk. fcblnetwork.com?B=2488677 Final tally: - 1 manager ejected - 50 baseballs - 1 ball boy ejected - 2 fans hit by thrown ball - 1 ten game suspension It's the only ball boy ejection I've seen.
Screenshot from live broadcast of baseball game. Following his ejection, New Britain Bees manager Matt Gedman throws a 5 gallon bucket full of baseballs toward home plate.Screenshot from live broadcast of baseball game. Nashua Silver Knights batter Keldrin Rodriguez waits just outside the batter's box. The dirt circle is littered with stray baseballs. Also, a bucket.A New Britain pitcher throwing a baseball toward the Nashua dugout. They've been heckling him as he picks up the 50-ish baseballs littering the field. The ball sails well over its target, hits an older couple sitting in the accessible seats at the top of section 115.

First round NBA draft pick Ebuka Okorie went to school with my daughter for a few years. Their pre-K class had a "letter of the week" which included a show-and-tell segment on Mondays. Kids brought things starting with A on the first Monday. Next week, things starting with B, etc.

My domain has wildcard email delivery, so I can make up addresses on the fly. I always use "theirdomain@mydomain" when filling forms. This approach is super useful for figuring out how/why something got my email address. e.g. How did BabiesRUs get ahold of "hospitalmaternityward@mydomain"? Hmm???

By attaching 20 unrelated amendments, I killed an anti-vax bill. There are ways to fight back against this stuff, it just takes a little creativity and some courage. Did I get booed by 240 House Republicans? Yes. Was it worth it? Also yes. #NHPolitics #NH01

I made a tool that turns PCB designs into 3D-printable molds. you sandwich copper tape between the parts, sand the ridges, and you have a real working PCB. no etching, no chemicals. I am losing my mind castpixel.itch.io/pcb-forge
I printed it and stuck self-adhesive copper tape to it. There's copper tape with conductive adhesive so you can add multiple overlapping pieces and it counts as one conductive surface.

Then I used the second part of the mold to shape the copper, so that it sticks inside the recessed traces.

Then I used sandpaper to file away at the raised ridges. The copper traces are now electrically independent of each other. Done!

But if I want, I can remove the extra copper tape. The companion mold at the bottom. This second 3D-printed part pushes the copper tape down into the recessed trace channels so it conforms to the shape. The two parts sandwich together with alignment spikes to keep everything registered.screenshot of QZW Labs' raised pcb idea! here is their youtube video

My mother, who believed that the RFID reader which granted access to her gated community did so by reading a *bar code* from the RFID box stuck to her windshield, always referred to this font used on checks as "magnetic ink". I assumed she was confused, that it was a font optimized for early OCR.

A Dyson sphere around the solar system (stop at Neptune) made from a single layer of the foil used for Hershey's Kisses (about half of standard household foil thickness) would require a mass of aluminum slightly larger than the mass of Earth. Sam Altman should get on this project immediately.

30+ years ago, Intel made a neat "pizza box" workstation: The LP486E or "panther". It had a bunch of cool features (EISA! SCSI!) and was a really nice package, with one standout bonkers decision. The speaker (typical tiny, PC speaker) was integrated into the power supply. Weird.
